They are just lazy at this point, I'm sorry if this seems negative but I cant think of anything else, the quality of gear actually only went down with the years, some gear had holes for tails when specific races used them, ear bulges in hat gear, all of this is gone, no verity, copy paste from previous xPacs, new gear is same gear but dyeable, just lazy.
