Not a complaint, necessarily, the realities of asset creation are what they are, but... why do the devs seem so resistant to mixing sets up?
That can mean two things:
1) Mixing sets from previous batches as they are, but just in different colours and/or dye patterns, especially now, with a second channel (e.g. Sirensong Sea, Holminster Switch gear)
2) Mixing sets down to individual pieces, design permitting, with the textures adjusted to match. This is how they've been handling Job starter gear! For example RPR's uses the (Striking, funnily enough) top and pants from Void Ark with boots from Sohm Al (the... exact same ones that VPR also reused. Could you really not find some different ones...?)
This is something I've been thinking about for a while, but the new crafted gear in 7.05 being... Rinascita, which we only got just recently, again prompted me to make a thread. Cryptlurker sets have a similar aesthetic, of... idk, Souls-y armour and Bloodborne coats (and would probably benefit from slightly less chewed up variants, even if it's only textures), as does Crystarium gear, the latter also matching FFXI in some cases (Fending/Maiming set especially), so... why not reuse some of those instead? Give Striking the Crystarium brigandine or Casters one of the Cryptlurker coats (perfect for Red Mage!), or something...!
Throw in a Role swap or two and I think it would really help give reused gear some novelty, at the very least! That's how I feel, in any case.
