Im not much of a Ranged DPS Player but i stand with you

mch main here. mch has been getting shafted in terms of its damage. it makes it hard for mch mains because nobody wants a mch in their party. it should be blastin foo's to the moon and back, hitting hard as hell. ranged tax is a load of dingo dung cuz everything has high uptime % anyway. should be right in the middle of all those melee basket case ppl, i think that would be a fair amount of dps. we have 2 defensive cooldowns already, like other certain melee jobs, but we dont get the damage boosts that they do, and we should. not because i care about the my main being the best, i could care less. i just want my main to be in a spot that makes logical sense - being the bottom of the rung in a raid setting when you should be the top, or on par with the top of the ranged jobs, isnt cool.

As a healer main, I will continue playing healer. So yeah, not playing as ranged!

The sad thing is even if MCH was tuned accordingly (say right behind BLM and SAM in ADPS) it may not even matter just because of what progression is like these days.That is, funneling gear to the biggest bruiser in the static and further buffing them with DNC or something.

It is somewhat disappointing to see MCH and phys ranged as a whole fairly undertuned yet again. But after years of this happening and them taking multiple patches to address the problem if they ever do at all (barely addressed in ShB, addressed somewhat well in EW imo), I'm just tired of it and will gravitate to different roles until they realize their mistake. Again. That they've made. For three expansions now.

For what it's worth, I do believe they at least got how it -feels- to play MCH right and I'm happy with how everything flows at 100. It's just yet another case of fairly bad number tuning.

Why play a """"support"""" role when tanks, and melees are the only role that gets support from the devs.

Yeah, this is why I gave up on MCH in EW. They have kept messing it up every. Single. Time. And then they help it slightly but it's never where it needs to be. I love MCH, but I can never bring myself to be serious with it again. I only did it last tier because no one else in my group wanted to Prange, and so I wanted to see what high-end MCH was like, but it's awful. No amount of 200 potency is going to help it. They really need to think about this more carefully. And this includes BRD and DNC. I will refuse to play those seriously until this "role" (let's be real, what is this role?) is in a better spot.
