They really should just go all in and make all DPS greedy, no longer having to worry about balancing between party buffs will make them all equally desireable in all content and more fun to play.

Dear lord, please. Get rid of all whole-party damage buffs. This would get rid of the 2 minute meta. This, in turn, would get rid of homogenisation.
At the end of the day they aren't going to get rid of buffs and make everyone selfish that's cope beyond cope. But phys ranged needs a damage buff, more meaningful contribution and the whole concept of mch needs a rework. Dnc and brd need their play style adjusted.
There is a reason so many statics are struggling to find prange because the role is a mess and people walked away, and apparently now we're just not needed.
Whatever team did the job design this expac needs to be moved elsewhere. They gutted dnc, brd is clunky, mch may as well be deleted and pct is a God.

The reality is that we won't break from homogenization as long as the 2min meta exists. The realm of "buffing others" uses to be a Rdps concept which eventually got expanded to every class. What this did is gave SE a window to put the DPS number into. So rather then SE balancing dps around varied time ranges of fights; they instead could simply say "how much damage does the class do in 2 minutes with these buffs" The result being that almost EVERY class what then designed with their damage kit to consider this - which is why single player experience can vary wildly and laughable as it may sound sort of high-lights how the Samurai was one of the more better designed dps class because its not designed around the 2 min meta; rather a continuous flow of damage which stops it from varying in most fights. As such the Samurai greatly benefits from the 2 min meta generally because it was designed to function without it; so when introduced to it the class damage output jumps; I feel that they tried to do that with the dancer class with feathers but failed miserably because it made dancer damage very erratic.
The 2 minute meta isn't going anywhere they've doubled down on it. Feedback from all the way at the start of EW has been ignored.I actually thought a bit about this.

That being said what needs to he more addressed in the case of physical ranged is the ranged tax which is an outdated concept and makes 0 sense with current encounter design
I've been playing Mch since 3.0. It's been rough, but I've weathered it. However, we're now in such a bad state that I'm now lvling Drg to do raids and dungeons, cause it's better to be loldrg than a mch at this point. I will not pick up another physical ranged class, I don't want to be a brd or a dnc. I want to be a mch, I want my little turret buddies back, I want Mch to feel like a Mch. #PhysicalRangedStrike.
Honestly I feel for phys ranged. Being dog water at launch in Picto's shadow was painful. I can't even imagine something like that for xpacs on end.
I feel doubly awful for Machinist.
Even if it's just a joke or jab toward the healerstrike, I do genuinely hope one day other poorly treated roles will also wake up and form their own collective effort of #strike. The more noise made, the better.
"Outside obvious jokes/sarcasm, I aim to convey my words to the future readers who may come across mine posts. Can I change -your- mind, somehow? Potentially... but that's not why I'm writing. You and I have wrote our piece(s). We don't necessarily need to change each other's mind. But we can change other's."
I was being serious. I miss my little turret buddies and want them back, and I am lvl'ing drg (and probably other jobs) cause mch is in such a bad place now.
I heard they not only kept aether locked like a bunch of idiots, they also FORCE 1 player per job so people cant even pct cheese, while mch looks like dogshit for dps when it should be top of the ranged, always. give the ironwoman a 10% dmg boost for the duration of its timer, every time, at the very least if you guys cant be bothered to make it right. this is such crap. im so done with this game lmao
