    Which is a fair and good explanation why these jobs are changed the way they are.
    SE is tuning the game so that everyone can enjoy this, and not just a select few.
    And from a long-term perspective, this makes way more sense than catering to a niche group of players.
    Turbo casuals could have just applied NG in every combo to keep up their debuff timer without thinking. It's not like the people who struggle with tracking debuffs are doing any content where that potency loss matters. There was no reason to remove decision making and make the job less fun for everyone else.

    Yeah, just tried this out. Viper feels significantly less fun to play now - great.

    Love how they said they would no longer do quick, knee-jerk changes. And then they remove a major part of a class not even one patch in.

    I wouldn't be surprised if the developers focussed mainly on Japanese feedback, them being Japanese themselves.
    The Japanese player base makes up around 1/3rd of the total player base of FFXIV, so it's definitely a huge portion.

    I'm fairly sure that the EU/US feedback is collected as well by community managers or something, so I doubt they are ignoring the things we post here.
    But it's speculation at best.
    Well mr devil's advocate, would you say that feedback after the fact in favor of removing death's design from viper to replace it with leaden fist instead is outweighing the feedback against doing that?

    meh i think its fine. i never dropped the buff anyway and they didnt change the "busyness' and they didnt remove positionals. i think we came out pretty unscathed

    Okay I just tested it out. It plays exactly the same, except instead of worrying about a DoT, it just recycles the infinite combo reset of Dragoon and Endwalker-Era MNK.

    I prefer the DoT, too, tbh. I'll miss having a poison. :<

    Whaaaat the eff did they do? The melee combo is significantly more braindead - that was the whole reason I liked the job was managing this stuff, it kept me busy. I wake up to find the job has been super noticeably altered..

    It's not "ruined" but pulled some of the fun right out of it.

    They are going against something that the producer actively said would not happen. They are still so afraid of being criticized that they have no faith in their own product, and would rather bend over and remove any possible point of friction instead of being confident in their player bases ability to learn.

    I'm okay with the changes. Well, at least melee has it's summoner now.

    EDIT:

    Tried it on target dummy and oh god its freaking dragoon endless combo bullshit again. They should have just increased the noxious gnash and other buffs to 30 seconds instead of throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
