That's because I do things like surf the web while I'm playing and I want to be able to read without squinting. But yea it would be ridiculous if a laptop was able to handle those resolutions for gaming. Not even gonna try it because I don't want it to explode.
I suggest doing this in Windows 7.
    • Go to control panels and choose Display. You should see a window titled Make it easier to read what's on your screen.
    • On the left choose Set custom text size (DPI).
    • Select 200% from the drop down menu that appears after "Scale to this percentage of normal size."
    • Use Windows XP style DPI scaling must not be enabled.
    • Press OK and then Apply. You will be told you need to log out of Windows for the change to take effect. When you log back in, you'll see Windows is now running at 192 DPI. Not quite Retina but as close as Windows will let you get.

FFXIV should be set to run with a Windows size of 1440x900 since it will also be effected.

Thanks, I'll definitely try it out. What resolution would I set my desktop to be though? 2880x1800?
