Is part of the issue that dungeons and trials have to be (by formula) spliced into the MSQ at regular, predetermined intervals. Thus we can never really have a vacation because periodically we need a crisis that requires us to blap the snot out of something.

I suppose we could have been sitting on the beach when a flock of seagulls swept down and stole our tacos, but it's going to be a struggle to construct a (2xmob + boss)x3 scenario centered on seagulls. Plus we could just buy more tacos.

That sounds like a valid excuse for genocide to me. Seriously though, if we're just adventuring around, DT's first dungeon can still happen just that rather than being "We MUST go to this place" it's "I really wanna go and this is the only way..." Bakool Ja Ja can still be a dick and instead of Thancred causing a cave-in it's the final boss doing final boss things. The level 93 one could be one of those "Wuk Lamat has asked for your help" and when you get to the top the final boss fight can go ahead with the excuse of WoL deciding "This looks fun, lets play". Admittedly if the expansion were as I outlined in that post then these would no longer be the level 91 and 93 dungeons, they'd probably be the level 95 and 97 ones instead, but I refuse to believe that it cannot be done.

I agree that Wuk Lamat should be killed off.

Her character has caused nothing but grief to the storytelling.

The horrible gameplay was already there since ShB, I think a lot of people just didnt want to see it because the story was great for them.

the gameplay as you said is the same as release it haven't changed the slightest. Make the job easier is where it is not the gameplay unless you count 1.0 then yes it changed but not since shb x)

I don't think killing off Wuk Lamat will solve any issue, it might give people that hate Wuk some momentary relief, but in hindsight it will make the atleast 3/4s of Dawntrail pointless since it is about Wuk's journey and character growth, and her dying means it was all a build up for nothing.

Best thing SE can do if they want to follow with that feedback is to retire Wuk Lamat to just a distant leader (like Lyse) with the occasional cameo, and steer the story into a different direction for our WoL.

There was only one part where Wuk Lamat really made me mad, when she intervened in my Fight against Sphene, gtfo of my fight you stupid cat lady.

But i didn't play with the horrendous english voices where she sounds like a dude, the german VA was pretty decent.

The problem is that she hasn't grown up... At all. We start with a spontaneous, ignorant character whose main motivation is ‘I love my people’.
We end up with a spontaneous, ignorant character who loves his people and whose only political slogan is ‘I want to bring a smile to your lips’ (?!).

This character does not evolve. That said, I agree with you: killing her would be too brutal. And pointless too.

I agree about her, the story writing was just bad. Our character was just some kinda background, i did not bond with almost any new characters.
Koana was much better then her, but when i started to do post DT quests i saw that he was also infected but that horrible cat woman with stuff: " INNED TO UNDERSTAND MY PEOPLE... "
For me almost all story and aspecially Wuk Lamat was very childish.
Almost all her talk was just speeches about:
1) i love my people
2) I need to understand others and then everything will be ok
3) alone we are weak but together we are strong

I retunred to game after 4 years of break, when I was doign with my best friend Endwalker story I was so amaze. The story was so beautiful and i made my bonds stronger with everyone I also liked post endwalker Zero character. I had tears many times in my eyes during that story. Endwalker in my opinion was masterpiece, we even understand and like more Emet.
After such emotional and really good story like Endwalker, we got that sh**** Dawntrail ... I just hope that they will repair it in future.

They should bring the story towards Erenville or Krille or even Bakool Ja Ja, but not Wuk Lamat.

There was some nice parts of DT:
- graphic , scenery, locations
- Wild West part was good

So please please bring back those emotions and proper ppl to write the story for us.

The entire point of Koana's character arc was the realization that despite the technological advances he could provide to Tural, it would come with the cost of erasing their peoples culture.

Take the challenge of the reeds, for instance.
While yes, he was able to solve the issue with alchemy, he learned nothing of the vanu vanu and their culture, while we were able to not only find the solution, but rediscovered the point behind the festival and reinvigorated their spirits.

This is why at the end he decides he wasn't fit, and then resolves himself to learn about his people so that he can use technology in a way that benefits them without the cost of who they are.

I also don't think it's fair to compare the culmination of a several year long story to what is essentially a fresh start after the Hydaelyn and Zodiark saga.

I don't even particularly like Wuk Lamat; I think she's fine as a character.
There's no way they would suddenly write her off because some people complain about her.
It is delusional to think otherwise.

Whether people like it or not, she's here to stay until we move on to the next expansion.
I really don't see a way for them to fix it outside of rewriting the story, which they are not going to do.

I just don't see the point in continuously winding oneself up over a character that kinda sucks but probably won't be seen again until maybe late autumn at the earliest. Just makes it seem like outrage is all you live for.

Also, killing off Wuk Lamat so abruptly would just make a good chunk of the Dawntrail MSQ thus far even more pointless in hindsight. I'd rather the writers at least try and salvage what they've written (if such a thing can be done) before bringing out the nuclear option.

"I don't like this story character and believe it is making things bad, so I wish it is abruptly obliterated just so it's all made even worse by turning everything so far pointless". Come on guys, you can overcome this. You'll have other characters to hate on future expansions for whatever reason — possibly a more convincing one.

You seem to forget that everything so far is pointless, DF is but a feverdream lol
