Love ya for more info, and sorry about not being able to get the source on the YoshiP thing. Most of the items I gathered are from this site 2chblog.
I think the translation is better if you grab the text and paste it into google translate instead of using on page translation, but I don't read japanese so thats how I got my info. IDK how to navigate 2chblog as well so yeah, sorry if there's any misinformation.

I did learn that grass is how they laugh, so grass when translated and www.

Yeah the chan boards are quite outdated and annoying to use.

As far as i can see they find this thread quite amusing and for a change like how direct it is.
They also seem to be unsure if Yoshida even knows about the feedback.

Some of the feedback is so unhinged it's quite amusing.
Examples:

"Development assumption: Player: "Ukuramato has arrived! Amazing! Awesome!"
Reality: Player: "Huh?""

"It's rare to see a character that's hated this much.
Hats off to the story team. I
think she'll have to be removed like Minfilia."

"As expected of a foreigner... He always tells me straight out
that he doesn't like something. It's crazy that Square Enix's usual "Very popular overseas!" thing doesn't work at all this time lol"

"Do I have to talk to this creepy creature 139 times every time I raise a sub? I
'll pay you to let me skip it."

Other comments are rather... let's call them not nice to foreigners.

Much love mate, I think that Square enix comment might be the comment about YoshiP that I might've flubbed on so I'm going to change that in the original post to correct my mistake. I remember reading a funny post about how a dude used his paid vacation on this game, and I think it was all he got was Wuk Lamat.

Yeah it's known that JP is not that nice to foreigners, but tbh since we had crappy people over there I would understand why. The people taking picture of the Geishas()? and thus they're now enacting a law or something so foreigners can't go xyz, the Jake Paul incident with the forest of death, and then Jonny Somali antagonizing the people as well. The west has not been conducting themselves well in Japan from what I've seen.

YoshiP creating a problem and then creating the fix for it with a skip is pretty darn extremely scummy. The PR stunt for that will just piss people off, thus why they should give it for free if the expansion ends up being extremely terrible. At this point, we don't know how the expansion is going to end up.

In terms of VAs, sucks for the JP crowd. If they screw over the JP cast for the EN cast, the JP crowd is going to be very unhappy. It would tell us that the EN side has a bias at least. The 7.1 patch is an extremely vital patch that will tell us what we can expect going forward. If the devs are going to stay silent then the best you can do is wait to see if their works will speak for them, but at this point many people have given up and will probably move on from FFXIV until it changes for the better.

I'm usually not there for the live letters, but it has chat enabled iirc? so expect people to spam the chat asking for answers. It will probably be ignored or waved off, or so I would expect anyways. If they disable chat, then oof IDK how people are going to react.*

That's par for the course with online games, including FFXIV. Skips for 2.0 (the slowest and up until DT, least liked part of the game when making alts) have been on sale for years.
