One of the most important pieces of advice I can give you when writing long term stories is to NEVER kill a character unless it's absolutely critical. You can banish them, loose them in a void, retire, not use them, etc, but never kill. You will trap yourself in a story dead end which requires too many deus ex machinas to fix.

I just don't see the point in continuously winding oneself up over a character that kinda sucks but probably won't be seen again until maybe late autumn at the earliest. Just makes it seem like outrage is all you live for.

Also, killing off Wuk Lamat so abruptly would just make a good chunk of the Dawntrail MSQ thus far even more pointless in hindsight. I'd rather the writers at least try and salvage what they've written (if such a thing can be done) before bringing out the nuclear option.

It just kinda goes to show how much she's singlehandedly hurting the DT's story that she floods into absolutely everything that people consider to be wrong with it.

But yea, probably shouldn't literally kill her off, but just not have her make any more appearances without any explanation would definitely be an improvement.

They're not going to kill her off, and doing so because 7.0 had some writing issues would be idiotic. Don't worry, once we leave Tural behind Wuk Lamat will likely be relegated to small intermittent cameos like other leaders and not a major focus. Come 8.0 you won't be seeing much of her. But they're not going to rewrite the expansion or suddenly kill off its main character in some desperate attempt to over correct.

She would have been a sympathetic character if she was suddenly assassinated in public by Zoraal Ja at her crowning ceremony. The story could then be about helping Koana, Bakool Ja Ja, and Galool Ja Ja to get revenge and reclaim Tuliyolal from Zoraal Ja and his army. The story could still tie in with Sphene and the Alexandrians because they are supplying him with an army and technology. Bakool and Galool would sacrifice themselves before the end to help us secure victory. But the victory is bittersweet, for although Koana becomes the Dawnservent, all his family members have died.

I think the idea is that instead of seeing her in late autumn, we never see Wuk Lamat ever again.
Your concerns about the MSQ feeling worthless in hindsight is merely sunk cost. Allowing Poochie to make future patches worse will not make 7.0 retroactively better. It merely makes the 7.x patches worse, in the hope that Poochie might eventually be tolerable.
Instead, drag Poochie out back and shoot her off-screen while the Scions (or even JUST the WoL) get to actually have an adventure going through a new pair of continents and solving problems. Like we did in ARR, you know?

Wuk Lamat getting assassinated might actually throw Tural in a proper civil war, which would actually make for an interesting story compared to the boring peace and harmony during DT's MSQ.
