Genuine Question: What Are People Struggling With in DT? (Spoilers allowed)

Question in title. I don't want to lump everyone into a single category, I don't want to just spit out 'git gud' and deafen my ears. I want to understand what people are having trouble with in detail. I want to know what bosses, what mechanics, what job systems trip you up, and why they're frustrating to you.

I'll be honest - I find this gameplay refreshing if a bit on the simple side. I've occasionally touched Savage on content, but I'm definitely a casual player aiming to have a good time with my friends first and clearing content a distant second. I found the current offerings a good step up in difficulty without it being too punishing - but I know from the variety of friends I play with what I find relatively easy may not be for others, despite them being good players and people themselves.

So fire away! Let out all your gripes and concerns, in excruciating detail. The more specific, the better for reaching understanding and providing feedback.

I'm a semi hardcore raider and have been since SB. What I struggle with in DT already started in EW: fast visual puzzles, in any type of difficulty, be it teacups or superchain theory. The game is changing into directions that legitimately challenge me for the first time in its history.

To add to this, it's the layering that tends to get me. Boss is going to attack in a checkered pattern...now half of that is going to be covered up by a half arena attack... now half of that is going to be covered up by a left to right tidal wave...now the boss is going to slam down on your location. Oh and this is a storyline dungeon boss, hardcore bosses now add DDR to their attack patterns.

Forgot to mention all the visual flair going off during it.

I didn't struggle too bad this expansion but it was definitely more irritating than previous ones.

Which boss are you talking about ? I can see all of the mechanics you describe on different bosses in DT leveling dungeons, but not all on the same, and certainly not packed into a single set of mechanics...
Concerning visual flair, setting other players to "limited" in your character menu concerning their anims clears the screen a lot, it helps immensely.
    When I switched that on back in early endwalker, I realized how much I was missing prior. ;o;

My main gripe is the resolution speed of *some* mechanics. It is simply too fast, to the point where the crappy FFXIV netcode starts getting in the way.
Also, because of the same janky netcode, the "dodge adds" phases (on M2 and the spooky 100 dungeon) are a bit of a cluster.

If SE wants to speed up mechs, they really need to fix their client/server interaction.

That's not the issue, vast majority of people are nailing these.
If the mechanics are too fast for you, they're too fast for you, not for the servers, everyone is playing with the same netcode on the same servers.

And you base that statement on what exactly?

...From my experience running these dungeons ? I level exclusively running dungeons, and I have 7 jobs at 100 now. (okay war is at 99 missing 5% to 100 lol)
When I fail personally, it's because I'm not paying attention. I failed these mechanics in the past and learned from these mistakes.
I also run my experts everyday and I could say the same. I also farm tender valley for tomes.
I have something like 30 clears of M4 because I wanted black kitten.
In dungeons in particular, people don't really fail mechanics anymore, minus exceptions, and generally, when they fail, they don't fail again when the mechanic comes back around.
If what you say was true, a majority of people would reliably fail these mechanics, and they'd fail them multiple times in a row.
There's no denying the game has poor netcode, but Yoshi P himself mentions that the game is built to accommodate that.
That's also the reason why they will most likely never fix it.

Now, the mechanics might be too fast for you, but that's the issue you're talking about, not netcode.
Not trying to put you down or say you're wrong to struggle if you do and just "git gud", but I feel it's important to properly identify the issue.
I do feel most would agree with this statement too, from the discussions that have been going around on the topic.

Like, I play the game too, you know ? lol
I'll return the doubts to you: What makes you think netcode is the problem here ?

Well, if on your client, you are no longer inside of the mechanic, but you are still in for the server, that is because of how netcode works with "snapshotting". This is a completely silly way of dealing with encounters, that no other MMORPGs have.
I mean, this dead horse has been beaten down enough.

As to where does it manifest the most, I'd say that the first boss of Alexandria is pretty high up there. M2 and first boss of spooky raid get a special mention too because of how important the reaction times are in these phases.

Man.... The Blue lines at zoraal ja.. I can't mentally process Thr grids. I just wait for raise. Also The left/right on Thr 4th normal raid. When 4 of them show up, my screen is so bright l just can't process it. I am just going to take it and wait for a raise
