    Extremely High Ping Recently

After messing around with some command prompts when I was having issues, I discovered that my game freezes were associated with VERY high spikes in ping between my provider (Rogers in Canada) and the FFXIV servers.

Now Rogers isn't the best. It's honestly poop considering its one of the big companies here. But considering before 7.01 I had no issues playing, this is new. And I mean... these lag spikes are HUGE.

Taking 10 seconds to get on a mount, T posing, no response from buttons for several seconds. Unplayable. Spikes from 300-3500 when my normal is 90-100. And these happen Every 2-3 minutes sometimes more often. I even had a technician out today to my home to check my internet, and they swapped my modem and did all they could, and I am STILL experiencing issues as bad as ever.

I also hear a lot of complaints about it from others while on hunt trains. Yes, hunt trains are bound to have lag because of the sheer numbers of people, but the last few days have actually been HORRIBLE. As in, we think the mark has been sniped because it takes well over a minute to even load. And I've got a very good PC! I can't imagine what it's like on PCs that are lower end.

If it's still like this for savage... oof.

I have had the same issue for some days now, which started during what seemed to be a ddos attack (many people on Primal were freezing or DCing over a couple days). It has since been an ongoing issue for me, in the form of massive lag spikes that come and go at completely random intervals. Like OP said, I sincerely hope that if it's on SE's side it gets adressed before the release of savage...

This sounds a lot like what I have been calling latency. I get it primarily in alliance raids and sometimes dungeons. It's annoying and often crippling. Especially when it's affecting the graphics of mechanics the bosses use, delaying them and such. It stopped last week, but has gradually started again. My own skills don't visually go off when I hit my macros for several seconds. My character just freezes and will just glide around if I move her until the skill graphics go off. Bosses skills go off several seconds before the graphics do. It's really bad in Aglaia, but affects most raids.

Good morning! Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

The issue you are describing is most associated with interference with game data. Many actions can trigger this error, such as a slow internet connection, certain security/privacy changes on the default Internet browser, an application running in the background causing interference, use of a VPN or an odd connection (EG: schools or cafes), a possible virus detected on the device, many rapid payments at once, and numerous other actions.

We advise clearing the cache/cookies/browsing data from your default web browser, disabling any web browser extensions (EG: ad-blocker) and trying again. We also suggest resetting the connection (router/modem) you are using to connect to the Internet before trying again.

Open the control panel of the PC and go to ‘Network and Internet’. Once there select ‘Internet Options’
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
    - Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"
*Make sure your fire wall or antivirus program is not interfering with the game

Lastly, check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

Try disabling background applications and do a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the “Start up” tab. Disable everything and then restart the PC.
Lastly, we suggest to power cycle the console and router by shutting down the Router and leaving the power supply unplugged for 5-10 minutes.

Thank you once again for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums!
