The Black Shroud - Strange Tree/Blessed Tree?

Most people stumbled upon this tree when Eft parties were the "In" thing while leveling in the old exp system.

We meet again, Drazzen! Cool tree. I'm pretty sure that's new, I know others claim to have seen it, but I've been in that area a while back and didn't see any glowing trees. Wonder what its for....

I'd make the guess that it's one of the Shroud's Hedge Trees that 'protects it's border from intruders' but quite honestly I'm not sure.

It is my belief it is indeed a Hedge tree. If you pay attention to the story quests and such, I believe when the little boy enrages the elementals, the tree he sets ablaze is a hedge tree and does the very same thing. If that is not the 1 there is a quest that I do remember had to deal with a Hedge Tree and it did that as well.

There's other trees that do that, like the one nearby Gerolt at Nine Ivies. But yeah been there since launch.

Would be nice, if for some reason, because of the color of the light that's released..these had something to do with the overly-aspected crystal and clusters in the files.

It's something that's of interest and I think people would like to know.
I've lurked the forums since their release and not seen this. Especially not "every month" as you so claim.

I saw this when bloat belly first came out, as the tree is right next one of his spawns it's really old

That used to be a popular grinding spot, but it's no longer used for that.

I remember someone claiming a long time ago that touching it spawns a Gigantoad.
