The Black Shroud - Strange Tree/Blessed Tree?

We meet again, Drazzen! Cool tree. I'm pretty sure that's new, I know others claim to have seen it, but I've been in that area a while back and didn't see any glowing trees. Wonder what its for....

Ya it's not, it has been there since launch, I used to have fun around it when doing mining leves up there weeks after launch. However I believe I remember someone saying there is an NPC mentioning it, can't remember where though

Thank You all for the responses. It's just what I hoped for when posting about it here. It's a shame that no real use came of the trees, but I am intreged to know what causes the lights to trigger different colours. "Back in the day" so to speak; I used to level in Thanalan, and then pushed for Eft parties down near the Murmur Rills, so I don't recall seeing it before.

The quest you mention about the boy setting fire to the hedge, I don't recall that, but I don't skip text, and I do love the lore of this game. In certain quests where the Imperials are attacking "The Hedge" I always imagined some large Conjurer barrier surrounding the Black Shroud. It'd be nice if these things were carried over to 2.0. Though I'm not sure if that would happen.
