    The Black Shroud - Strange Tree/Blessed Tree?

    Hello Forum,

    Today I had to hunt Haughtpox Bloatbelly for the Twin Adder Quest "Cure for the Pox". We got to the spawn early and had to wait for his timer to come up. During this time we were casually running around and messing about.
    We then came across this odd tree...

    (Note: Skype was sent through a different Audio Channel and FRAPs only records the single default channel. I forgot I had this setup turned on, and it's why I appear to talk to myself)

    I've been playing FFXIV since its release and have never seen anything like this.
    Is this new? Is this part of the 1.23 Geological Stuff? Along side the Twelve Symbols?
    Either way, thanks for checking it out; Hopefully this is something new and exciting.

    It's something that's of interest and I think people would like to know.

    I'd make the guess that it's one of the Shroud's Hedge Trees that 'protects it's border from intruders' but quite honestly I'm not sure.

    That tree has been there since launch, it has always exploded with light when you touched it. It never had a purpose as far as anyone knows, and if there were grand plans for it in the lore they seem to have died with the old dev team.

    Weird, but not new.
