New job idea for the ranged class

Now I know you've all wondered what the next ranged job might be, if we get one. People have mentioned a few different ideas, like a dual tmg/pistol wielding job, or corsair which does melee and pew pew. Great ideas, no doubt, but hear me out.

What if we had a job that used a big cannon, of sorts. Bigger than the hand cannons of a mch, slower, and heavy hitting. The weapon could be a potato launcher, and we use lalafell as ammo for the potato launcher, or we use a glamour on our party members to make them into a potato, then, depending on the role of the potato we launch at our foes, our attacks would trigger certain additional effects, making potato launcher job great with utility. If we launch a shield healer potato, the party gets a shield equivalent to a heal with a potency of 225. If we launch a pure healer potato, we get party wide regen. If we launch a melee we get p.atk and skill speed boost. When we launch mage tater we get matk boost and mp regen, If we launch a potanko, we get dmg reduction %.

Jokes aside, with the removal of lalafell and potatoes from this suggestion, change the theme to suit whatever expansion it gets worked into, sounds like a pretty fun way to play ranged and make it so one feels useful outside of pushing their usual buttons.

I'd really like it if they introduce Corsair or Cannoneer at long last. I'm thinking something like a Phy Ranged + Melee Hybrid, kinda like how Rdm is a Magic+Melee Hybrid, but with a Sword and Gun instead.

i have been trying to think of what kind of tank/p ranged dps they would add next expansion especially since next expansion is the void and they like to theme their jobs around the expansion.

Would of been really funny if you link the Corsair from FF11 to show that this is literally already a thing in the other FF mmo.

If only there was a Unique Job with interesting, maybe dice based, support mechanics that they could draw inspiration from.

I've always wanted idol but seeing that new drone minion makes me want a reporter job. Microphone and camera drone as a weapon.

That's bugged me since ARR. I love both bard and ranger and I hate that they combined them, depriving me of the chance to have either.
Gimme my bard with a harp hitting the mob with discordant songs and status effects! Gimme my ranger with the elite bow skills!

Though since both scholar and summoner both use 'book' type weaps, there's no reason bard cant continue with their weird bow/harp/guitar/whatever combo, and give a straight up bow to rangers
