With how long we'll now be waiting for content in general, QoL stuff like this would be nice. Sigh. I can at least hope it's being seen and thought about somewhere on the dev team.

For the love of gods, this game should be more alt-friendly. At least drop the story requirements if you've completed it on one character & share shop purchases with the entire account, bare minimum. Oh man, I really want improvements to the alt experience. I have so many alts, just for different character flavor. Here's the main two things I want.
1. Shared housing - this is a must, since alts can't have houses if the main has one.
2. A shared bank for passing items and gil between characters, at least on the same server. RMT already has this in the form of a FC chest and they use multiple accounts anyway, just give us the QOL change for our alts already!
If they just made these two changes, the alt experience would improve a lot. I'm all for sharing achievements and story progress and levels, but I think they're a lot more unlikely than the above two. Please make the alt experience a better one!
I support more alt-friendly additions to the game.
Account-bound Emotes: It's $7 each, and it's expensive enough so everyone can have one in the future.
Shared Cash Shop Outfits: I have some shared old outfit sets I got from doing old Amazon collab events, and it's a pain knowing that all future sets are for 1 character.
Shared Account Bank: Lets me organize my inv more efficiently over all my alts instead of relying on FC bank.
Shared Physical Code Minions: I bought the physical item for $30+. I should be able to access it on my alts w/o being forced to buy multiple physical items.
Shared Cash Shop Hairstyles: They're $5 each, and it's enough so I can use the same hair on my future alts that I unlocked on my main.
Shared alt housing is coming up on here so much, I'll definitely add it to the main post as well. I totally agree, and yeah a little alt-bank in it, even just server-based, would be awesome. But yeah, also majorly - the shop needs to be way more account-bound. They can do it, we know they can do it, not only are there now bundles, but the mounts (non holiday) are account bound.

I 100% agree that there needs to be more alt friendliness to this game. I would love to be able to mail stuff to my alts on different servers or at least have some kind of small storage (it just needs to hold like five or ten items and gil) that can be accessed by all characters on one account. Aion had this fifteen years ago.
Yoshi-P is chomping at the bit for feedback apparently and by the gods I hope he looks into this thread. I'm disheartened as there's no response or like.... community managers talking about this or saying feedback is being given to him, to be honest. And people say he only pays attention to the Japanese forums. Sigh. I'm not even sure if Japanese players are also talking about this, though that would be nice if some were of the same mind and it was a thread on that side.
Just... I don't feel like doing content at all, I don't need it all on one character. If I want a reward on someone else, I'm not going to bother going for it as I don't feel like nor do I have the time to repeat MSQ, and I'm not going to waste my money.
Truly, I feel like a collections journal is necessary now. WoW does a lot and the one thing XIV had over it (housing) is now not going to be exclusive to XIV either. But now, WoW has that AND the insane alt-friendliness as compared to XIV.
I don't want to switch back yet but gods is it tempting sometimes. I know I'll get the 'well this game isn't made for you', which...great, I guess, it would be nice if eventually things like this were taken into consideration.

kinda like wow with warbandsIt'd be great IMO if the game had more stuff like this. Though it would take a lot of work.
Take things that 'are' account wide for example. Like SOME (but not all) mog station mounts. Or subscription reward glams. They do this by just...sending the mail to all of your characters.
So it'd be great to get account wide stuff but would probably be a big undertaking on the back end to make it all work. And sadly, one downside to being able to do everything in this game on one character means they're less incentivized to add account wide stuff than say, WoW was.
But I would like to see a lot of this. And one thing I would really like to see: let us send mail to our own alts, and add our alts as housing tenants! It'd be really nice if I could adjust my house on my alts. I know there used to be bugs one could use to friend your alts to get around this but those have been fixed and now for some reason you just can't. So trading an items or gil from one character to another either requires weird market board manipulation stuff or getting another player as a go between. This just feels completely unnecessary for both sending letters and housing.
i like this suggestion
i wouldnt even mind if they gave us a "legacy achievement" for getting multiple characters to max level in that expansion realiscially i just wish there was a reason to play more then 1 character EVEN with the current system
