Also, reminder that:
Savage weekly limits is worse than normal or alliance raid because you can only attempt to roll once per week in savage.
If you roll but don't get anything (or you even pass on rolls), then tough luck, you can't realistically join parties anymore and roll again; all of PF blocks you from redoing a savage raid if you've already cleared it for that week, because having cleared it means that there will be less chests upon clearing it for the rest of players.
In normal and alliance raids, if you don't get anything, that's unlucky and it feels kinda bad, but you can just do it again until you DO get something. In the case of extremes, you *always* get a totem even if you lose out on the coffers. Down the line, 99 totems also get you collectible mounts, which a lot of people do this for too. You will generally always find farm parties for extremes just so people can earn totems.

No such thing in savage. You clear it once per week and that's that, you're not really allowed to do more than that even if you wanted to.
This is not prolonging the longevity of content.

If anything it just leads to the same issue you always see in savage later on in the tier: Tuesdays everyone is happily clearing. But try clearing in the weekends where most savage raiders already got their stuff.
But if you *always* give rewards, then people will *always* have a reason to join savage parties, and that does a lot more to the longevity of content.

You do get a "participation trophy" in the form of books. But you also only get 1 book per raid, per week, and you need many books just to get 1 gear item. 3 books (= 3 weeks) for 1 single accessory. 4 books/weeks for one single boots/gloves/helmet. 6 books/weeks for one single chest/legs. 8 books/weeks for weapon. Actually used to be worse.
It takes 12 weeks to get a full set just from books. 3 months. For 1 savage set. And this is assuming you even CAN clear all 4 savage fights every single week. That's okay and reasonable timetable.

Now multiply this with the assumption you're wanting to play multiple classes. 7 different endgame gearsets (healing, fending, casting, aiming, scouting, maiming, striking). Means 84 weeks. 21 months. It's probably a bit less because most people are not that unlucky they never get coffers, and you actually do get to "catch up" with augmented tome gear and such a bit into the tier. But still, this is nearly 2 years. Do you not think that that is a bit ridiculous?
