I don't really see it as entitlement to wish to engage with the Job system.

You are. Just just don't get the top item level on every one.

It is a good thing that people are forced to "main" certain jobs and that you can see that from their item level.

The only thing they should remedy, is that people who have gotten loot negatively influence the drops for their parties, so people can freely participate.
