Strange people

An unknown player once asked me about the leader of my free company. He had been in a dungeon with him and my leader was playing as a healer.

The tank pulled no more than 2-3 enemies and that in a level 90 dungeon with good gear.

The funny thing is that he didn't want to solve the problem with the leader himself, but with me.
He also said I should think twice about playing in such a free community with toxic people.

Why do people have to make problems out of nothing and involve other people? I really don't understand that.

A lot of people (including on this forum) have a strange mentality that tanks should pull more than 3 enemies in a max level dungeon.

The problems with that are that they may still be new to tanking, have tank anxiety, maybe they leveled their tank via other means like beast tribes or FATEs.

I also try to think to when I was new. The max level dungeons for me were level 50 and then level 60. On my very first playthroughs I did single pulls because I didn't know the dungeon yet and wanted to understand the capabilities of each mob pack, and complete the map first. Now I can do this with Duty Support but I didn't used to be able to.

It's such a common opinion in the community though that I'm sure some people would send a random /tell over it.

Tank messages you telling you that your FC leader healer is toxic?

Did your FC leader flame him?

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe he was too scared to ask or he was being rushed despite being uncomfy. Perhaps he tried and got a bad response, there's alot of missing context.

When I was new I was fortunate to play with someone who is an experienced healer, she gave me alot of confidence in early dungeons and I always wanted to see how far I can push it so I communicated with healers back then. I was always more scared on a healer than tank because in other games I always heard in MMOs that it's always the healer's fault, so I never really played healers or tanks.

I think being mindful that people might be in that stage of building confidence or are still scared/anxious to pull more and forcing it just gives a negative experience. For me I might just say 'you can pull more if you're comfy' if they do it, great, if not I'm fine with it too.

But yeah it has nothing to do with you, but I'm suspecting that guy didn't have a good time....I think blocking your FC leader should've sufficed.

A lot of people think they need to constantly share their views and opinions with everyone and everything when they encounter a situation that doesn't confirm to their world view.
Being on the Internet with an anonymous interface makes then get away with doing so scott free, whereas doing so in a public place would result in them being ridiculed, put in place or just outright ignored.

They meant after the dungeon. You can look at the Contacts list to see who you were recently in a party with, then go to their world and send them a tell.

I swear to god, FFXIV players are like mean girl middle schoolers.

That person needs to get over themselves and just play the game.

If you're going to make drama, at least make it entertaining, y'know?
