Loved DT's story, reminded me of a actual self contained JRPG. better than HW or SB

but the way they introduced characters, set the world and paced as we learn about the culture and world etc and then had the 2nd half develop. just felt more enganing than SB and HW to me

And thats the resume of Tural lore which is sad because theres barely anything else.

Meanwhile in ARR you get TONS of Uldah lore and even on a lesser ammount from Gridania, Limsa and even Ala Migho before you can even visit it, the beast races, the political situation of Garlean Empire and much more.

You forgot the Alexandrians with their Tron-like atmosphere, which I personally loved.

Ignored Alexandria because is not part of Tural and it has a simple yet convoluted story to to shard/time travel shaenigans: Lalas discovered an omnimaterial for everything, countries went to war for the control of that rare material, rejoining happened, a fragment of the shard survived with their tech and recreated the fallen princess as an AI. Also eventually started to digitalize people when they died but the maintenance costs gradually scalated, at the same time they started using souls as a fuel which allowed to have extra videogame lives to avoid untimely deaths. That created an unsustainable system that would eventually collapse on itself because Sphene was unable to let things go

So, basically...just ignore all the lore and then claim it doesn't exist? The backstory to why the mamoola ja live on the forest floor but invade the upper forest (not to mention the blessed siblings), the entire history of the yok huy (their expansion into the northern continent, subsequent withdrawal, etc.), the reason why the pelupelu became merchants (they weren't at first), the evolving relationship between the moblins and their artisans...

I mean, seriously, you don't have to like DT, but you can't just ignore all of the lore, pretend it's not there, and then claim it doesn't exist...

I can respect your opinion. I personally preferred HW and SB, but I can see why some would prefer this more self contained story.

I was bored out of my mind in DT. The hyperfocus on a singular character was a baffling choice after we had such strong ensemble casts for the past eight years.
