who is destroying the game? not us 100%

if we found the story and gameplay engaging.. believe me no one will ever rate this game less than 9/10

weather we wait for another MMO that understand its player base

people quit all together and only people who like sims-like games still playing the game

CBU3 probably is busy with NFT project so maybe we will wait another 2 years to know what changes will be

The train prep scene was trying so hard to be Mt Gulg. It was honestly embarrassingly bad.

It also fell flat because it didn’t have the same reason.

Mount Gulg had splintered factions joining hands and the dungeon in 5.3 was all of the first coming together.
Paglth’tan saw old grudges between us and beast tribes since 1.0 being buried and teaming up.
EW, as short as the scene was, saw us finally teaming up with Garlemald and the spaceship was a culmination of all our doings in former expansions.

The train scene didn’t have the same impact because all those people were already joined without conflict.
It didn’t have a reason for them not helping each other.

It could be that the Ex version omits Wuk Lamat anyway and the Wandering Minstrel approaches it from a "how would the battle have played out without Wuk Lamat's intervention" angle?

You are probably right with the Ex ommiting here completely but the reasoning would be horrible for me personally.
It implies that we couldn’t have won without her and that was clearly not the case.
Just have the minstrel say that Sphene had more time to prepare or something.

I know it’s a nitpick but at this point I’m just tired by the Wuk wanking.

I wouldn't take the opinions I see here on this forum as a good representation of the community as a whole tbh

As a general rule of thumb, for every one person that complains or gives a compliment there are 10 others that feel the same way. Most people wont take to the forms unless they have a strong opinion and many will remain silent.

Browsing through the forum here and watching Youtube videos I clearly see how people seem super unhappy with the new Expansion.
Playing the game for myself and also in my fc and social groups I did not experience that feedback for quite a while.
I never checked this froum in the past and just came here recently to look for the "community voice" but.. is it really that bad? Are people that mad about DT or was it always like that in the forum? Maybe someone that observed the forum for a few years can tell me.

I personally think DT is fine story wise.. sure it may not be peak epic but I feel like it is quite good. I was entertained especcially for the last part of it.

The content imo is great. It is more entertaining than in the past and we now even can wipe here and there, which is often funny. People are saying it is too hard but idk isnt it exciting to have a look at the boss while doing roulettes? (talking about dungeons)

For the raids it is kind of the same. I dont feel like they are particulary harder than - for example - ShB Normal Raids?

Are here any people that actually enjoy the game? And if not.. where are they? I've heard player counts are looking good, and I tbh can imagine why.

It makes me kind of sad hearing all that stuff about "dungeons too hard for me" "raids too easy for me" "story is bad" "bring back stormblood", I have the feeling people are more and more driven into the mindset "Well if everyone says it is bad.. then it must be bad!" until they actually feel that way.

On the bright side, they would actually have to care about our opinions. So far they only seem to care about the opinions in the japan forums so there is a good chance nothing we ever say here will actually be taken into consideration.

I have never gone into an extreme that wasn't 30 levels below me in my life. If that happened, I'd have that extreme on farm. I don't care if the mount was a golden alpaca.

While yeah, it is by definition the minority criticizing dawntrails story/character writing and what else, it still shows that 40% of steam reviewers (who bought the game), 28% of critics on metacritic plus 35% negative/14% mixed user based reviews.

This obviously doesn't reflect on the thousands of players who feel one way or the other (or are conflicted If they liked/disliked the expansions story) who don't voice their opinion on such sites (or here lol), but I'd just like to use this from another user because I think it fits very well:

Can't and won't know the exact number of people who like or dislike the story, the character writing, etc etc, seeing these numbers in contrast to the other expansions, while yeah, it didn't have the story and or world building of Shadowbringers or Endwalker, still leaves me disappointed.

If you are curious where the jp reviews might be - it is usually on Amazon jp. Currently 1/4 of the reviews give 1 star with a lot of details provided. The 3 and below star reviews are at 42% point, which is noticeably worse than any other expansions there.

Nah, we're now pivoting into wasting sub/cash shop money on absolutely trash-tier AI games :>
Destroying the game? If anything, I get the feeling we're desperately trying to save it from one of the worst managements I've seen in a video game company with so many huge, beloved IPs.
SE did sell Crystal Dynamics and Eidos recently for raise funds do dump on the NFT disaster and rubbish like Forspoken- releasing some cool ips like Tomb Raider and Legacy of Kain from the SE oubliette. Sometimes, I wonder if selling the FF ip wouldn't be a blessing. Other than EA and Activision, not sure any other company is as bad as SE, especially after the new CEO landed that amazing New Year's letter outlining the plan to intensify their "investment" in technologies such as "AI, cloud and blockchain". SE is so cooked it's not even funny, they replace one clueless CEO who sunk money in dumb junk with another that triples down on the same dumb stuff. You can't make this up lol

I'm on the same boat with Isala and chizLemons, came here to vent about the quality of Wuktrail's story.
I'm afraid that if I don't let them know it's not okay they'd come up with something worse next time.

For me it's not just about the money, I can just take my business somewhere else.
I like the game and I'd like to see it thrive to let me enjoy it more for years to come.
