The way Cid said that we didn't have to use Louisiox's "back-up plan" makes me think that Dalamud is still going to keep falling and that we have to do something else to stop it. I'm assuming the final cut scene in 1.23b will be a little more epic.
That's referring to the other quests like job quests and sidequests. Anything related to Dalamud will be removed including the battles. All the GC storyline quests will be gone forever and this was confirmed a long time ago.uhm, not exactly that was directly quoted from lodestone

that doesn't mean it will be completely gone or not replay able it will just be changed to play differently
You will not be able to look at the cut scenes for quests such as those related to 7th Umbral Era, or quests you can't play in 2.0. Also those quests that will remain in 2.0 the graphic engine and rendering will change, also some quests will be remade so you will not be able to replay the exact same cut scene as current version.
that's what it says for that translation
I kinda think that the fact we didn't hear Van Darnus' last words was highly fitting for the scene... in fact, it goes perfectly with his final gesture because what he says seems entirely private between them. Adds to the climax to what could transpire in 2.0.
Here why I think so...watch the end scene again VERY carefully... (hint-- notice what is flowing towards "Dalamud")
"After ten years, finally headed to Sharlayan... absolutely stoked"
bah i'd rather for us who have done all of it be able to do re see it on the new engine with 2.0 but not the ones who weren't here for it ... ah well there goes my hopes of being able to rewatch those scenes... i think i'll stay in my inn till 2.0 and watch the last few cut scenes from main scenario and from the last fight.... *cries* I think that's the only thing I'm gonna complain about lol I'm normally pretty laid back with stuff but dang it!
I have a secret to tell. From my electrical well. It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells. So the room must listen to me Filibuster vigilantly. A huge THANK YOU!!!! For FINALLY selling the Meteor Survivor Polo on the store. AND a huge thanks to my friend who bought it for me while he was at Fan Fest!!! YES I finally have my POLO!!!
Final Fantasy VI and VII's ending was beautiful and it didn't feature voice acting.
Final Fantasy X's ending was bad because it had voice acting. Didn't want to listen to Meg Ryan say "THIS IS MAI STORIE" in his whiny little mouth noise of a voice.
/JUSTKIDDINGbutSeriouslyTheVoiceActingWasPrettyBadAtSomePointsAH-HAH-HAH-HAH-HAH-HAH
I was fine with the lack of voice acting, in the end. Better for 2.0.
Current story cutscenes will not be viewable in 2.0, as they will not be available in that version of FFXIV.
This has been confirmed by a rep in another thread.
So like I said, increasing the cost of cutscenes dramatically by adding voice overs to them, and then scrapping them a month or 2 later is really wasteful.
I agree the cutscenes would have been way better with voice overs like Van Darnus, or Grand Company speeches, but lets be honest, it would have been wasted money when they can spend it on permanent VO's or other things in 2.0.
Bummer about us not being able to even view them anymore in 2.0 in any way though : ( better archive those youtube vids~
