Regarding the 2nd DT trial's victory cutscene

I'm getting sick and tired of doing all the work to kill a boss and then have it drop something only to have my "friends" stand around and chit chat. They make no effort to pick up the thing. And then a new enemy just walks up and takes the item, that is very important, without any resistance.

I get why you're frustrated about this, but I really think this is one of the more minor examples.

The key only drops once Zoraal Ja disintegrates, and at that point the literal exact next thing that happens is Sphene turning up and swiping it. Like, I was taking notes during that scene and I literally had no time to take any other notes than that. Couple that with the fact that nobody in the room had actually seen the key before now, or even known that it was a thing in the first place, that Sphene was at worst still an ally of convenience at the time (and also just constantly possessing robots so you can't really STOP her), and yeah, nobody would reasonably try to stop her, because to them she's not really doing anything worth stopping.

Also, when it does become clear that Bad Things are happening...

Y'shtola immediately tries to shoot the key out of the air, but there's some sort of shield around it. So they did at least put up a little bit of resistance, it just didn't work!

The only one that did bug me was everyone standing there while Gulool Ja Ja was getting stabbed - I don't have a problem with the whole 'they need to 1v1 because of their honour' thing, but as soon as Zoraal Ja came back from the dead, I think the Scions probably should have been reaching for their weapons.

I don't even think this would be hard to fix - they just needed to have Gulool or Zoraal do something to actively prevent us from interfering (throw up a wall of fire, knock a pillar down, send some soldiers our way, etc).

That scene was probably my least favorite point in the story.
There's no reason whatsoever for NO ONE to get involved the moment Zoraal Ja gets back up. I get the WoL not getting involved because job animations, but...Koana has a gun. AT LEAST SHOOT HIM!

Also, Gulool Ja Ja really needed to have his weapons back out the moment Zoraal Ja started moving again. It's like everyone forgot to think, and it's a bad look. Where's "Jump first, ask questions later" Estinien when you need him?

I feel like you’re forgetting the enemy airships outside. Could Zoraal Ja be struck down without the airships going to town on Tuliolall? Somehow I doubt it.

Why would that stop people from interrupting the resumed fight?

aren't they already dying. that cutscene was also terrible. it would have made more sense in reverse. like fight me 1 on 1 or i'll let my soldier attack the city. instead we had the soldiers attacking then we get the duel.

Actually, if you remember the surroundings of that scene, the first attack on Tulliyolal was really narrow. In the quest where you're assessing the damage and injuries, a couple of the clues make note of the fact that they just hit straight down the middle; they carved a path to the palace, and that's it. To us as players that feels much bigger, because that central district is basically where all the major vendors and market spaces are, but it's not even a big part of the rendered Tulliyolal. That scene was them being both purposeful and intentionally intimidating, 'look what we could do', but they hadn't opened fire in full yet.

Not to mention, as you might recall, Tural is more than just its capital city. If the Alexandrian forces want to genuinely lay waste to Tural, what's stopping them from turning south right afterwards and hitting Kozuma'uka, Urqopacha, and Yak T'el, which had been kept safe by this point.
