    [Feedback] Level 100 Dungeon

    Hi all,

Spoilers ahead for those who have not completed.

First time I've posted my own thread but I thought I would my feedback on The Strayborough Deadwalk. Keep in mind this is my personal opinion.

As a preface I have been playing since 2.0, I have Lifer III achievement and 2000 Mentor roulettes cleared so I have seen my fair share of dungeons etc.

First of all, who ever created this dungeon is a genius. This is my favorite Dungeon in the game by far.

I love the style, it reminds me of the circus area in Nier. Spooky little faire ground. Love it.

The difficulty is perfect for a capstone Dungeon and I really hope SE continues with this. Im only saddened it will get easier with the Ilvl increase, potency increase etc.

The first two bosses are absolutely hilarious! Forget big bad primal we will just have teddy bears running around and have a nice cup of tea. The mechanics are perfect aswell, wiping leads to learning! (One of my favorite QUOTE from a person in a roulette: "Wtf is this?! I came here to lose brain cells not gain them" hilarious.

I have healed this Dungeon multiple times and each time I still adore it. Please keep this up! Absolutely 10/10!

Exactly, the way it should be for endgame content. It's a very chaotic, fun dungeon.
My only gripe is that the last boss is by far the simplest/most "traditional" of the three. They should have had the first boss be the last lol.

Genuinely yeah deadwalk's the most fun I've had in expert roulette since sb launch

I've seen a fair few deaths and wipes and people have defo been resistant on the face of it, but every time once parties have realised taking hits and dying to learn is acceptable and they wont get their heads bitten off for being anything less than perfect they've all enjoyed it by the end, regardless of performance

Fuck I've actually seen people talking in chat again, joking about mechanics like the bullshit minion snapshotting on boss 1, and previous runs they did. It's been much nicer than ew's silent autopilot roulettes where it felt like you were playing with bots

Hope they keep up this level of difficulty, mechanical complexity and overall production value for future 7.x duns, it's a very high standard to maintain but as mentioned it really is perfect endgame "casual" content. Good stepping stone up to ex trials too

I think that dungeon's first boss will still hold up better compared to other level cap dungeons because the way it punishes you for getting hit is not being able to push buttons. Gear wont reduce the time you are unable to cast.

I like the dungeon, only with first boss they need to reduce the hitbox on dolls. I stood far enough, but still got grabbed. Not sure if this is a hitbox or netcode issue.

My issue will be that the boss has 3 bear phases:

    Phase 1: Bears run around
Phase 2: as above plus 2 people get targeting with follow puddles
Phase 3: as above in Phase 2 plus a clock aoe on the ground

What are we at now? Around 700 -705 ilvl? That's week 1 of new raid, next week more ilvl.

As time goes on the phases expecially P3 could possibly be skipped. (Think of Aglaia on release - last boss had a beautiful cutscene and mechanic - I never see that anymore)

As I healer I love p3 with the teddies! It's so chaotic that I place down my AoE healing bubble just incase I get hit by a teddy. It's so fun weaving in and out thinking "do I dps here? Oh no I can't there's a teddy/clock aoe/Someone's dropped a puddle - oh no someone's been hit can I heal safely here? "
All this while making sure i dont die or it could be a wipe.

IMO this is FF14s problem, as time goes by and they don't future proof the dungeons in the expansion I just hope they keep up with stuff like this they add so it's not just a silent 12 minute run for tomes, glamour whatever.

All of the instanced content this time around has been wonderful. I can't remember the last time there wasn't a single dungeon/trial that popped up in a roulette that I dreaded seeing.

I also tend to like when the dungeons put the hardest boss right out front, and this time we got several dungeons bold enough to do that.

There was a MAJOR missed opportunity in that dungeon as well...when the Elephant, Lion, and Tiger come out of the tent...the Elephant should have been a Bear to match the line "Lions, tigers, and bears, oh my!". Though that first boss is a pain if you get the slightest hiccup of lag.

I love the dungeon. Just think the netcode (or perhaps my own internet) is not up to snuff for the mechanic where the mascots chase you. There's been occasions where I mindlessly cross right through one of the little guys and they do nothing. Yet on other occasions they'll suddenly snap to my character despite it seeming like I have plenty of space between us. It's the only one of these sorts of mechanics I've had this issue with. Love the rest of the dungeon, though! Really wish they made Oogie Boogie a little tougher. Bit of a let down after the first two.
