    Nvidia nvlddmkm.sys since 7.01 ?

    Hello,

I hadn't seen any BSOD for a long time since DT patch 7.01.

    I received 3 times (I'm a casual player, so it's a lot for me ) the error on nvlddmkm.sys "VIDEO_TR_FAILURE".

I got a GTX1070 so I had no big hope a driver update would help and... it didn't.
I have yet to try removing the drivers and reinstalling entirely, but did anyone face the same error ?

If you see an error message VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE with blue screen (BSOD), it indicates that driver related to Graphics Card stops responding or malfunctioning. At that point of time system will restart automatically to prevent data loss and to restore the things to their default.

The most common reason for this issue is that due to incompatible graphics card drivers or graphics device is being overloaded beyond its capabilities. Please check and ensure that your system is running with latest Windows 10 compatible graphics card drivers.

That tells me you may have a defective driver installed.

Keep in mind that the GTX 1070 is still below the "Recommended" requirements for Dawntrail.

An RX 5600 XT / RTX 2060 is recommended.

I recommend downloading "Display Driver Uninstaller", running it on "Clean and Restart" then reinstalling your drivers directly from NVIDIA's website.

You can get DDU at https://www.guru3d.com/download/disp...ller-download/

DDU is better than the traditional uninstalling through Windows control panel because it fully removes the GPU driver including any left over files related to the driver, unlike Windows.

Thank you both for your kind help.
    I'm using an i5-7500 (3.8Ghz); got 16Gb RAM

What's strange is the game ran smoothly since the DT release, then crashes started to occur as of 7.01 update.
After posting this, I uninstalled the drivers and made a new install... And so far no crash.

So I guess Nighthour was right: drivers got malfunctioning/corrupted somehow.

An i5-7500 does not meet the minimum requirements.

OK, which motherboard and which BIOS version do you have?
