Wuk seems too ignorant about the land. Gulool Ja Ja seems too ignorant about his kids. And his kids seem too ignorant about each other.

I can't even buy into the idea that these four people are family. Even Koana seemed weirdly distant for very little reason until he was suddenly a siscon. Somehow, even if 90% of the story was Wuk Lamat front and center I feel like I've learned incredibly little about her, how she grew up, where she grew up, what her life is, etc. It's almost ... impressive.

One thing I forgot to point before:

There is more complicity, love and character development between Alisaie and Alphinaud during the Coil of Bahamut questline than the entire DT expansion.

I even count the cheesy "For the future of Eorzea" line better written than whatever weird dynamic they wrote for the 3 siblings.

It's literally the turn your brain off expansion. And not in a fun way, because it's a low stakes adventure where we don't deal with any heavy themes (until we deal with Emet-selch 2.0). We can't even question Wuk Lamat's ubringing, because the entire story telling will immediately fall apart.

I hate to bring real world politics but I really don't need to go really far to find children from the elite classes to be completely clueless about the way of life of those beneath them. And this does carry over to their ideology and statements. Wuk Lamat being clueless about common things in Tural becomes easier to believe once you've seen things like videos of rich kids making a big deal about... commuting on train like the common people.

That Wuk Lamat is clueless about cultures away from Tulliyolal is far from making no sense to me. She is a children from the ruling class, after all. If anything, her actually bothering to familiarize herself with the commoners' way of life could be the one thing hard to buy.

*Unknowing. Lot of incomplete and run-on sentences, as well as very odd use of spacing. Poor grammar, and more additional spelling mistakes than I care to correct. I don't like Wuk either, but bad writing in the context of this post was just a little amusing to me is all. Likely a difference in main speaking language, which I understand completely. But even so, I chuckled. Enjoy your evening.

They are not ruling class in the normal sense.
This isn‘t Ishgard. They aren‘t nobles. There isn‘t even a noble bloodline in the classic sense.
GJJ is the very first ruler and from what we know pretty hands on with his raising of children.
Koana was free to go to study, ZJ is more or less the leader of the army and Wuk Lamat‘s entire stick was that she walks around her people.
She is more a warrior princess with her axe and training.

Wuk Lamat goes out hunting and is freely roaming the city. It’s even shown to us that the people repeatedly speak and interact with her.
There is really no excuse other then thinking she is extremely arrogant and doesn‘t actually care for the people and cultures.

It is evident that Gulool Ja Ja, despite being a competent ruler, failed miserably as a father. His neglect of Zoraal Ja throughout his life left Zoraal Ja with nothing. Many criticize Zoraal Ja for being entitled, but they overlook the root cause: Gulool's failure as a father. Lacking a positive paternal role model, Zoraal struggled to be a good father himself, his best effort being not to burden his son with expectations. This guy never saw love so he couldn't give any.

At least Wuk Lamat had a mother figure to show her love.

I don't think Gulool Ja Ja would teach his kids anything but combat...

For a group that goes on and on about being a family, they sure don't act like one at all !

Becaue the only one actually important is Wuk Lamat. It's being reinforced every step of the MSQ. Everyone else is just a wallpaper for her.

Which also is confusing any annoying with the story. There's no mention of Zoraal Ja's mom (or Gulool Ja's) that I can remember. Not even a throwaway line that she died.

Also, Wet nurses/nurse maids generally are assigned to all children. I think it was implied Namikka (sp?) was not just Wuk's but Koana's as well? If she wasn't, she at least interacted with him, so why didn't Zoraal Ja have one? And not only that, I can understand the head of Resolve not being a great parent, but we're supposed to infer the head of Reason was a shit parent too? I guess two heads aren't better than one.

Dawntrail really needed more time for other characters to breathe. We have to make a lot of assumptions regarding the main cast or everything falls apart.

I experienced Heavensward and Shadowbringers and my reward, or vacation, for these was an incredibly juvenile steam train of a plot that you could not jump from. Even if you forget for a minute how much Wuk Lamat and her insane amount of dialogue suffocated you, you remember that there was never any point for the twins to be with you from the get go. Their physical presence felt like a disrespect to the player as they were simply shoe horned in, for a reason I'm still not sure of. Estinen was treated properly as a character that didn't need to be there. You meet him, you get a nod and he leaves. Graha and Yshtola also treated better and entering on a more appropriate cue.

I make this criticism as someone who has not finished the MSQ and I can speak for what I did like, which is Solution 9 is pretty damn cool. Really damn cool. Entering and being given a tour of the place breathed energy into me, because by that point I was pretty tired of everything Dawntrail. Solution 9 is the one place where I feel that Square Enix is good at evoking certain emotions in players. But then, Wuk Lamat insisted on being our partner for the tour and I remembered all the exhaustion I felt and proceeded to auto pilot myself, in order to physically pilot, my WoL around. When Wuk Lamat isn't fun to you, she is an energy drain of a character at a level never experienced before.

There are things I do like in Dawntrail but I do not like Wuk Lamat. Her childish ideals, quirky character traits that aren't edearing, excessive centre of attention and dialogue stains the most I can enjoy the MSQ and that will never change.
