Quick Synthesis failed many times

Hello everyone!

Never posted here, but I have been having an issue with crafting and I don't know how to fix it. Im trying to craft 180 Silver Lobo Leather so I got all the materials from the gemstore and gathered the rest of the recipe to craft it.

So I did the normal synthesis as usual and got my first one with HQ and went over to quick synthesise the rest, but that was when I noticed I had failed 10 quick synthesis of 30 (losing a lot of material in the process) and I don't know why.

It says the craftmanship required for it is 3366 but I have 3655 way higher than what it asked of me. The leather is a lvl 91 crafting and Im doing it with a lvl 91 leatherworker, I don't know what im doing wrong for it to fail, can someone please help me?

in case anyone is interested... quick synth failing when you are above recommended craftsmanship (and appropriate level of the craft) appears to be tied to having an older offhand equipped. we did a bunch of testing and while i couldn't reproduce this, Nat was able to. 2 out of 5 lumbers broke wearing indagator gear and level 84 offhand. swapping to a lower level main hand was fine.

so if your quick synth is failing... upgrade your offhand.

Hello! I'll try it, but my offhand is level 90 (1 level under the craft) so I don't know how much it would change to a lvl 91 offhand. But is this a bug or an intended feature?

If you want to avoid the failure, it's better to craft manually until you get max level gear. That's also going to give you more XP if you add in a couple of touch steps to increase quality.

I used my level 90 gear until I was 100 on all classes, quick synthed hundreds of level 91-98 ingots/logs/gems/etc and had zero failures

quick synth + rested bonus + FC/GC squad bonus + engineering manual = fast and easy exp, and I always have use for a bundle of current crafting mats

Quickrafting when you're at, or near the level of the recie tends to have annoyingly lot of fails. I never quickcraft stuff I'm not 10 levels past the requirement. At lest they did away with the fail change on lower level than certain gap recipes.

I never had a quick synth break doing 90-100 in MOSTLY script gear (see below) so idk what to tell you

I had a penta melded 620 crafted legs instead of script for pants though, then i made a cheap penta meld 94 body when I got level 94, I took this to 100, zero breaks in QS, even doing 98 mats or w/e they were. They started hq when i upgraded to the 690 though.

are you repairing your gear? do you have some kind of melds on right?

having melds on mostly 90 script gear, the 94 body, and 90- crafted legs was enough to meet craft 98 mats so when i was 98 and did them, no breaks, im not 100% sure if i started do that at 97 or 98 but i did do crafts underleveled so =/ doono what to say.

early to mid SB, QS had a lot of problems, nice to see DT change that, or w/e the patch was when they made QS reasonable.

i spoke to someone today and i think i may know the issue...

level 91-93 tools (ik 93 does not exist, as 94 is better but it has a point here)
91-93 tools would be weaker then the 620 scripts, so the tool theory may hold, you need 94/94 or ilv 620 script tools not to break

I leveled to 100 on all DoH in 24 hours by doing QS. I started doing EW-tier materials and then moved onto DT when gatherers started listing it. No breaks on any DT stuff with level 90 gear.
