Leveling healing is too boring. Does it get better?

I have tried leveling healers, the problem is the lack of healing. I am so bored I fell asleep mid fight, noone died except me. The lack of engagement in the role is terrible. I have mained healing in every game I have played except FF14. When I started I started as a healer. I dropped healing and didn't look back until recently because I missed healing, yet I am running into the same issue, the severe lack of healing to be had.

leveling healer in any kind of encounter is like sacrifice your enjoyment to other people so they can have faster queues

The most enjoyable healing is found in progress and blind fights. The issue with levelling is that the content has been ran hundreds of times so people aren't making mistakes. You can rather specifically look for newer players to play with or you can progress Dawntrail content like Extremes, Savage and such in parties that are progressing it. That's kind of the case for most games, the most engagement for healers is when people are learning things and making mistakes. Once things are optimized, it gets more boring.

I'm not saying this is the way it should be, I'm just treating your question in good faith and telling you my experience in finding healing that is enjoyable.

I haven't geared up healer to go do EXs, but for every other Level 100 content currently out the only one I actually enjoyed healing in was Arcadion M4...

Yeah M4 was fun.

The other three, the DoTs from some mechs weren't bad, but it still devolved into either 'scrape bodies of the floor' or 'glare spam.'

That said, really wish that juicy line stack wasn't at the very end of M4 only. already dreading the day people get Gear/the casual story players stop doing normales and then it will be skipped forever.

It doesn't get better until you're in prog of end game content, then it picks up for a week before dying again.

It was not always this bad. Sadly after the gutting and other classes getting better self sustaining abilities. It’s really dull. I feel sorry for anybody who is trying to level the first three healers at this point.

I am legit trying to find a different game to heal in at this point. FF14 doesn't scratch the healing itch at all. Don't wanna pay a WoW sub on top of FF14, might do GW2, SWTOR, or if someone suggests another I will try them out. FF14 has let the healer community down.

Eeeer if you want to heal then.... no.
ANet always said that they didn't want the holy trinity for GW2.... So, in the end, all the class have self sustain (more or less powerfull depending of the build).... The Meta Build closest to a healer is Ranger with Druid Spec (Add-on required) : https://hardstuck.gg/gw2/builds/rang...lacrity-druid/

But if you want to play only the F2P version, which is called Core, then nope... and if you buy Add-on.... Well you have 80 level to go + Skill point grind before unlocking the spec you want.... And then start the farm hell for gear <.<
