Why do people in fandoms these days have to try and justify why they like or hate any character with some weird moral justification? It's okay to just love the villains, you know. There's no need to twist the story around to somehow try to "morally" justify why you like the bad guys in a story. It's fiction. Sometimes the villains are just more fun and enjoyable. It's fine. They're allowed to be bad people and you're allowed to like them anyway, because they don't exist and can't harm anyone.

Sometimes is fun to have discussions about the morality of characters, in this case we have two villains Emet and Venat, both with light and shades but villains nevertheless and i like when we can have calm discussions about their morallity, i loved Shadowbringers because Emet and Eli were both sympatetic complex villains and the story was never trying to whitewash the atrocities they committed.

idk, personally I don't hate Venat. My point is just that the whole Elpis thing made her motive and actions very questionable morally wise and that just a problem cause well she end up being very similars to other villains in the MSQ. It hard to take the game story seriously when it tell me ''You know those Ascians, well they sacrified people to Zodiark to stall the final day, that bad'' and then it goes ''You know Venat, well, she genocided her race to prevent the final day and stop those evil Ascians''. What the moral here? Doing morally wrong stuff is okay if it conveniant for the Protag? It dosen't help all her action between SHB and Endwalker turned from ''Oh yea her extreme action are just her reacting to the final day. She doing this cause she out of time or better solution due to how fast events happen'' to ''Oh yea she know that this would all happen and she did not even attempt to prevent it.''

It's actually worse than that. She set up the evil Ascians to mass murder her children in the futile hope they'd one day restore their world and people, but they were actually just pawns being used to create a single person, the WoL. Venat out Emet-Selched Emet-Selch...

She's lucky Emet-Selch is more gracious than me, cause had I found that out and I was needed to save the day in Ultima Thule, I would have let the universe end out of pure spite. "Meteion's right. We're wasting our time. Pack it up."
