As someone old enough to remember and whom has had friends and family lost in it, I found it a small but nice tribute of sorts - They will be remembered, much as the theme of the story goes.

My that looks like a lovely place to fly the mount I just got from an O8S farm party.
To be fair, Americans make 9/11 jokes all the time.
And how many 'Oppenheimer' jokes were made in the last couple years?
Nice bait thread though.
The menacing aura of every Lalafell.
I've never seen anyone make 9/11 jokes.
You can find a lot of memes about it.
As for the topic, it's been 23 years, not everyone is old enough to have lived through this event and especially not a US Citizen.
The 9 refers to solution nine, the 11 refers to the number of the residential area.
We can't forget about the complaints that the localization team got with their handling of Haurchefant as well. It is really a shame that we don't get to enjoy the story and characters as it was originally intended because the english localization team feels they what we want better than we do. It would be nice to feel like we are getting the same game as all of the other regions. I am fine with the puns and pop culture references in the fate names and achievements, but for the actually story lines taking place, I would really like to get the same material as everyone else. At this point it isn't just about the voice acting, the wording needs to be addressed as well. No voice acting can make up that.
When someone is deeply affected by it, it's usually because they're a victim, not just because they watched 9/11 on TV (if it were so, even I would be a victim, since I too watched the tower crumble live). It's baffling how some people pretend to be pitied over being shocked by watching the tragedy unfold, without even being an actual victim. If having seen the terrorist attack live still affects you to this day, 23 years after, without even being a direct victim, it's your problem, and you'll need counsel to cope with that. The rest of the world, in the meanwhile, goes on.I watched that happen on live TV…. And it greatly affected me. I have a veteran of the war that came after in my FC and an FC mate that lived in NYC when the attack happened. There is a large group of players that are 40+ years old that play this game. This is a highly tone deaf comment.
If something like this were enough to warrant making changes, the slippery slope would never end. Do you imagine censoring the siege of Tulliyolal because it might affect the sensibilities of Ukrainians or Palestinians? Because this is where this kind of take goes.
Also, jokes about 9/11 have been prevalent since, at the very least, 10 years ago, either doing black comedy or ridiculing some of the ludicrous conspiracy theories spawned around the incident.
