They should pause houses demolition for a time

That they make it a limited resource when every other game out there has mastered the art of instanced housing for a decade, does kind of imply that they want this situation where players are held hostage by sunk cost, so that puts it back on them though.

It is not just the house, it is all the hours, days, weeks of furnishing, or if it is a small FC house, something you and your friends may have been putting work into it every day for a year to level up airships and submersibles. People will not lightly unsub if it means losing something that took a year to build up and the memories of everyone's effort for it, and will take a year of work again to get again if you should return in the future.

Sentimental tokens we can ill afford to see lost forever, matter.

I have a friend list that still includes the character of a dear friend who was taken by cancer over a year ago, and I know I can never move my character to another data center without my Friend list getting wiped, and I will never get my friend back on there.

When the choice they give you is, "Keep paying even when this game is no longer worth the sub fee, or you will lose things you care about forever.", then of course there are people that are going to feel like it is a hostage situation!

Actually, it would be slightly less limited if they wouldn't reserve so many plots for FC's. Look in any FC only or mixed subdivision and you will find a vast many empty plots reserved for FC's while players are struggling with lottery to get even a chance of obtaining a house.

Yeah, sure. Making someone loose their house (which is often worth more than 25-30 millions, if not much, much more) because they dared to take a break is a very good idea. Spoiler : it's not, and we all should ask for a change in this system instead of shaming people who just want to keep their house AND be able to be away from the game during 2 months.

I mean. GW2 does do a lot of things better. It's a fact, it's just a solid fact. GW2 especially does glamour better than XIV, that's also just a fact and commonly accepted. Just because you don't like it doesn't make it any less real. There's nothing wrong with asking for a better game.

GW2 does a lot of things better, and I'll stand by that, but for everything it does better... the combat just isn't as appealing to me. Which is a pretty big part of an mmo. Therefore, I play XIV instead of GW2. Because XIV's combat appeals to me more. But I still recognize that these systems are bad when compared to other games in the genre. Therefore, I ask for better of XIV because I recognize that some of their systems are bad.

The point is "better" is subjective. The point is that users with negative opinions will always be more likely to voice those opinions, while those with positive/neutral opinions are content with what they have.

Now you got one and you want them to be unavailable to everyone else? No pulling up the ladder behind you. Your house is fair game too. If you unsub, someone else gets a chance. A lot of you people get your houses, and then leave it empty for 2-3 years, and then come crying to the forum once you finally miscalculate your obligatory log in to keep it, screaming about how its not fair that you lost your beloved house that you couldnt even be bothered to slap down some npc's in, let alone furniture, that you clearly never used. You want a house as a flex at other people, not because you genuinely want to be in it. Which you're allowed to do! If you get one just to have one, then by all means go ahead, but when you finally slip up and it gets demo'd,
