Do stat points carry over to WHM?

New to FFXIV and have a question about stat allocations. While leveling my Conj, will those stat points I spend carry over when I eventually unlock WHM, or does that job have its own set of points?

Short answer: Yes

Longer answer: The jobs are actually modifications to the underlying Class. Everything, every single thing aside from what secondary abilities you can equip, goes from the class to the job.

Something to keep in mind is that when you unlock the Job you get an item that lets you reset your points so you can save it when you are done leveling in case you setup your points for soloing, but really as long as you don't put any points into STR or DEX you will be perfectly fine.

The best way to think about jobs is that it's not a new class. It's a modification. It's like putting on a new piece of gear: Your stats get altered, and you can do a few more things, but it's still the same class. You keep your stats, your xp, and for the most part your gear.
