I still wouldn't mind the dresser checking the vendor all the same (heck, even grey item vendors at equal level or lower to us while we're at it), and make us pay the price on top of the prism to apply the glam if that's what it takes?

Quest and achievement rewards, and such. Anything you can reacquire, like tome or scrip gear, doesn't need a way of being saved forever because you can always just go get another one if you need it again later.
I was asking this mostly because the question has already been asked to Yoshida in one of the recent events and he said they'd think about it. For example the first ARR job set is stored in it where it could just be in the calamity salvager.
