Us not having anything to say about the kid with levin sickness was especially baffling because we have an immediate and obvious cure and just... don't bring it up for some reason?

We even have a possible solution for the failing crops outside of solution 9. We specifically figured out that some areas have a tendancy to be aspected to one particular element need certain crops in order to survive (The mamool ja home) and we just.. never say anything about it. (Its possible that it was even the same element, and thus the same crops would work. But I forget)

Sadly, this is a major L take. The first half of the story was great, and exactly what we were told we are getting. The second half is good too, but the way they transitioned wasn't very great , and that caused a major disconnect. As mentioned by other players on many threads, you cannot judge the story after only reading the first chapter of it. The introductions and world building are done now, as always happens in the main story for every expansion. If people judged an expansion by its leveling msq, then shb would be the worst expansion by lightyears, but nobody bashes it now that the story is done, and all the content is released and polished.

Even the base story of Shb was praised. Why do you think people love Emet Selch so much?
He wasn't in the patches.

DT being "The start of a new story arc" doesn't justify badly written characters and badly written stories.

The entire first half of the expansion, the entire rite of succession thing should be entirely rewritten and replaced as there is no reason for the WoL to take part in it, and they're barely even in the story to begin with.

People keep saying Dawntrail is the start of the new arc... except Yoshida has never once said they were writing an arc. In fact, he openly speculated the possibility they won't do another arc but didn't rule it off the table either. Basically, it's the same non-response he's infamous for. Which isn't a criticism, just to be clear. I don't necessarily think they need to do another massive saga.

And that begs another question. What did Dawntrail even set up? Every major villain is either dead or reformed, and the remaining new additions all had their stories concluded. The only hint at anything beyond is Erenville's vague musings about going on another adventure. However, that isn't really a tie in to Dawntrail nor would said expansion be necessary. Contrast this to ARR which left several plot threads unresolved and ended with Nanamo seemingly poisoned, Y'shtola trapped in the life stream and the Scions in complete disarray. It feels far more likely 7.1 will be another Zero styled mini series because there's nothing to go off from Dawntrail.

DT is actually passable in French. Where I was skipping by the time I got to Tobli in the pelupelu on my first run through, then changing from English to Japanese and still skipping, I am doing my second character I need at 100, on French Language (Helps it's commonly spoken in our family).

Poochie is still poochie, but the sheer amateur hour feeling of the English VA and also the English localisation are gone.

In French the dialogue is far less cringe and the voice acting seems A-list quality.

But look at the English and you see real weak localisation and that broken performance by whoever did the English voice.

All they need to do to fix Dawntrail is get the French localising team to take a supervisory lead over the English. Maybe they can teach the English speakers in the US office of Square what quality reads and sounds like.

Story is still a shōnen meh-ness that is too young for the playing audience, however, at least it's not something you find being outshone by a poop emoji like the English sub-par effort.

The fact that you call it a yoshi-p cult is just, you can't be anything but a troll. The dude does more work than anyone ever on a game. He is routinely upfront about stuff, and has more interaction with the player base than any other mmo ever. It's no cult because he actually cares about the game and try's his best. No one hangs on every word and forgives him everything and thinks hes perfect. Hes just amazing at his job and people give him the respect he has earned for all the work he does constantly that goes beyond what a normal dev would do. Even giving a warning that 7.0 would be like this. He consistently takes the feedback and works on it it. While u might not have liked it many others did. As evident by all the other forums, rddits, discords out there. In which the negative opinions are in the minority. With the majority being along the lines of This was good, this was, bad, wonder what the rest of the story has in store, and what answers and new questions we will get. A large portion of the player base. Especially those that really are enjoying Dawntrail. Do not come to these forums because of people like you. Which is why you see people like you here. They english players see these forums as a cesspool for only the whiny babys who want mommy and daddy to fix everything they don't agree with. To the extent that players warn other players to not use these forums.

The negative opinions on the other forums and on Reddit are the minority? Do you have numbers? I don‘t get that impression.
If anything Reddit is mixed and the other forums basically say the same thing as here.
The various media are more or less the user score from what I could gather.

I‘m tired of that argument of „your criticism doesn‘t matter because in my head you are just a few“.
You also post insults like „whiney babies“.
Ignore the Japanese forum and fabricate artificial arguments like „many“, „all the others“ and so on without any base.

I also don‘t remember him giving us a warning of another main character or sidelining the WoL to that extent.

It will probably only be a comment in some interview nothing more.
They have already written much of the patch story. There might be a few tweaks here and there but nothing else.

I think they will listen to the feedback because it doesn’t seem to be just a small minority this time and quite a number of content creators say the same thing.
The dungeons were changed because of far less feedback and they announced they will take feedback to decide the next way forward.

The actual question is how fast and in what form they will do that.
I guess 7.3 will be the earliest but for me that could be to late depenting how the patch stories before that are designed.i

I dont get all the drama about the story. Read a book or watch a movie if you want "story". Going trough the msq equals a 0,x % of most people playtime, so why even care about it

So the story is not important in a Final Fantasy game?

I mean, there are people who were fine with and even loved the expansions story, though. Does their opinion not matter as much as those who did not like/hated the expansions story?
