Can we have a Star Ocean Collab?

With Solution Nine here, it definitely gives off that vibe that you see in the Star Ocean franchise. I'd like to see us get a crossover especially since Star Ocean has seen better days(not to mention the IP is owned by Square Enix). There are some good outfits in Star Ocean as well.

It would be cool and Tri-Ace is under SE so that makes it a little easier.

But considering that SO is a dying franchise, idk. Even with the SO2 remake, I have reservations about how they'll move forward. 5 and 6 kinda of flopped bc of the bad writing and lack of budget.

SO needs big budgeting to realize IMO.

Usually collabs are there to promote both games. Maybe when they remake another game.

Yeah, it's the sad realization given after SO4 made it come back, it flopped. I know they went more in a Xenoblade direction with their last two games with some mechanics, but I want them to go back to the old formula that SO2 made work.

Collabing with XIV will at least give fans of the franchise a reason to go back and try SO since it definitely has some well-written characters.

Oh man Star Ocean 2 is so awesome. It's like one of my top 3 RPGs of all time. Star Ocean 3 really sucked in comparison.

SO3 is my preferred SO bc of the combat and story (ik the twist was controversial). SO2 was good tho!

But bc of the twist in 3 that the story of the following games is stuck. It's logical nightmare to write around (hence why they keep setting games before S03 begins timeline-wise). They were too ambitious with the twist, they should have saved it for a final hurray for the finale game in the series.

I've madly loved Star Ocean 1-3, I also played 4 but sadly I barely remember it.

Maybe if they make a SO3 Remake (which I'm sure they'll make sooner or later), we'll finally get some sort ob Collab. Given how there are characters like Welch Vineyard in the franchise who clearly can travel through time, space or even worlds without breaking a sweat (and might or might be not be a "fourth-dimensional Being" of sorts in SO terms) I'm sure they could make a collab work easily.

We're supposed to get the Cosmic Exploration content at some point... There'd probably be room for a Star Ocean collab there.

I'd love that! I love Star Ocean so much, admittedly mainly the first ones. I played 1 and 2 to absolute death on different platforms and am just getting started on the new 2 remake; especially 2 never gets old and is among my favourite RPGs of all times too. (I'm stubbornly ignoring the later twist because that twist never does any franchise any good IMO.)
