Any hope that this can be for all servers with an npc for those who want to turn it off?

All the new servers for EU that have the buff are constantly locked.

It’s only if you make a character on a world defined as new by SE or if you move an existing character to such a world. Atm worlds qualified as new are only on the Materia and Dynamis DC. None of the European worlds is defined as new now: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/worldstatus/.

The only people who have the buff on the newer European worlds are characters that were created or transferred on such world back when the worlds were defined as new by SE.

The buff exists to encourage players to create their new characters on worlds that have a low population.

There are no EU (or JP) servers that have a Preferred or New status currently. They are all Standard or Congested.

You have the option of creating a character (or transferring your existing character) to one of the Dynamis or Materia worlds if you want the buff. After 90 days, you would be able to transfer the character to an EU world allowing new character creation and transfers. Materia would be the best choice if you have friends on the EU worlds as they could take advantage of cross region travel to play with you on Materia.

Worlds are no longer defined as new there. It’s not a matter of date of creation of the worlds but of population.

Materia would be the best choice if you have friends on the EU worlds as they could take advantage of cross region travel to play with you on Materia.

Or just chose the one with the best ping. Someone who creates a character on Dynamis can also DC travel to Materia when they want.
