    Please change the way roulette's work...

    Back during Cataclysm, we had what was basically a Heroic Dungeon Roulette. But every day we during the week that we didn't do our roulette, We banked that reward. So If I work Tuesdays and Thursdays I could make up those dungeons on Saturday when i had the day off.

    During the TAU era of FFXI we had assault charges that regenerated every 24 hours, so we could bank a ticked and use a ticket every couple of days. So we never truly had to miss an opportunity to participate in content when we had no time to play for a day.

    If someone can explain to me a gameplay reason not to have a system like this I will shut up. But I dont see one that is apparent.

    not sure i understand, so correct me if i'm wrong - what you want is, instead of having a daily reward, have a number of daily rewards stored that you could go through in one day after not playing for, let's say, 3 days? i believe one issue that would arise from this kind of system. excluding the fact engagement during normal days would be lowered, which is something they don't want from the start, people who are going through msq and are in queue for dungeons would have to wait a lot longer for their dungeon to pop. i know trust exists and all that, but it is an mmo still and this kind of system would slow down everyone who are running roulettes everyday

    Heroic dungeon roulette was for max level stuff, wasn't it? So it's not quite comparable to most FF's roulettes. The goal of FFXIV roulettes (minus the expert) is to get queues to leveling instances (dungeons/trials/raid) shorter by inciting max level players to get into them. Otherwise, the queues for low-level stuff would be horrendous (as they are in WoW - or at least used to be until BFA, IDK about now). So, the whole point is to have max-level players queueing for these at any point of the day, and not once a week in a long session.

    Now, MAYBE a case could be made about for expert roulette, so you can run 5 of them and be done with it in one go. But as it stands, if you want to cap your weekly tomes in one go, hunt trains do the job a lot better.

    Honestly, I would imagine that having daily roulettes that don't 'stack' is to prevent exactly what you are describing from happening:

    I would imagine that a lot of people would 'bank' their roulettes until the weekend and do them all at once. This kind of creates a scenario where a huge chunk of the community is trying to get a ton of 'stored' roulettes done 1 or 2 days out of the week, with queues being less active during the rest of the week. That would suck horribly for the guy that's off on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, no? The current system incentivizes attempting to log in when you can every day without being too punishing if you don't (You can cap playing 2-3 days a week depending on what you do). No one's really pressured to rush through things (unless you're raiding savage and need a tome piece before raid starts lol) with this method, and can be assured that at the very least, there will be a night crowd to run with in the middle of the week as players find time to play.

    Which rewards did you get in the heroic roulette in Cataclysm? I ask because I can see the ask for a system like this if missing a day of roulettes makes you legitimately "behind" (like a currency you can only get 1x per day, via roulettes), but in FF14 none of the roulettes give unique roulette-only rewards, if you want to cap tomes you can do the same "wait till your free day and spam dungeons" thing you want to do, just not with roulettes. As the above poster said, the point of roulettes in FF14 is to make sure that there's always a population, so giving people a reason to hold off for most of the week would be extra implementation for a feature that kinda goes against what they want. Not to mention, the only roulette currency you can really get "behind" on at all would be weekly tomes, which you only need to do expert roulette 5 of 7 days in a week to cap with, which is already giving you an in-built buffer to miss some days.

    I *could* see the case for a rolling weekly cap system (so that if you accidentally don't cap weekly tomes one week, you can catch up the next by having your weekly cap temporarily increased to match the missed tomes), as that would be more similar to the theoretical limited currency I mentioned prior, but I think roulettes are fine as-is.

    How to fix roulettes:

    Make cooldown pools that just gather people queuing for the same popular content like titan, sub lvl 30 dungeons, ST and Labyrinth. So it makes those players wait just a minute or two to fill their party with what other players also queue for the same thing, then after that it allows filling from people queuing roulette, to reduce how often the same thing is run over and over and over. It also discourages people spamming the same thing just because it's faster, making everyone else play ST 5/7 daily alliance raid roulettes every week. And the remaining 2 are laby.

    Lvl 91-100 roulette
    Lvl 70-90 roulette
    Lvl 51-69 roulette
    Lvl 1-50 roulette (give a million billion exp, a trillion if it's under lvl 30. The correct amount of time to spend under level 50 is under 50 minutes.)
    Normal Raids (Refurbish binding coils to make them normal and playable for more content. Also make binding coils mandatory in exchange for removing 10 hours of fluff waste of time pray returning to the waking sands/delivery boy of light in ARR.)
    Alliance Raids (kill Laby/ST harder, still too common. maybe have a waiting pool of a few minutes on people queuing specifically for those so they get grouped together more, resulting in less roulette runs of them. Also turn mechanics back on in ST so its not just striking dummy tower.)
    Guildhests: Completely overhaul and make them teach mechanics that are actually used later in the game. And use more mechanics later in the game at all xD Aglaia is just as much striking dummies as ST.
    Trials: Quarantine all trials here, no more titan in levelling roulette. Also make cooldown pools for just a couple minutes for highly popular trials like titan.
    Adventurer in need roulette: Cater to players needing to clear any and all content for the first time here, priority to mandatory content.

    Let expert roulette die. A roulette for 2 dungeons is laughable.
    Let msq roulette die like it deserves to and convert the duties to single player instances.

    While we're at it, extend hunting logs to lvl 100 and sightseeing logs from 1-100, from wherever they begin. The more exp available at lower levels, the better.
    Add back battlecraft leves and extend levequests to lvl 100
    Delete all escort levequests (noobtraps)
    Make sidequests worthwhile in exp/gil.
    Purge mentorship.

    They should have done this in 6.2.

    Hunting Logs go up to level 50, and you have Daily Hunts for level 51+ starting in Heavensward. Sightseeing Logs exist in every expansion already.
    Yes, bring back Battlecraft Leves.
    Escort Levequests are less annoying than stalking quests in MSQ are.
    Sidequest EXP needs to be boosted by at least 500%. Currently they only give around 3% of a level for each completion. Just do FATEs instead as they are rn.
