Controller "Cardinal gates" Removed in 7.01

When submitting a bug report, please use the below template and thoroughly fill out the necessary information.

    Date & Time: 7/16 Patch 7.01
    Frequency: Always

    Steps:
    1. Plug in a controller
    2. Move analog stick forward
    3. You don't walk straight unless perfectly locked to 0° perfectly north

Patch 7.01 RESET the "Stick Sensitivity" setting to 0 while also removing the "Cardinal gates" on analog sticks that "Snap" or approximate your analog stick value to 0°, 90°, 180°, or 270° whenever your value is within a certain range. This makes playing on controller, especially doing jump puzzles and precise positioning in raids truly awful.

A post here to keep the main report concise and less meta conversation. This has been a problem that comes and goes with patches CONSTANTLY and needs to stay at the controller gate option permanently. Please test this specifically for every further game version before pushing to live.

Should be noted that this only seems to be an issue on the PC version of the game as I said in my post over in General Discussions, the ps5 version has these gates and with 7.0 they added them to PC too but now with 7.01 yeah, they're gone. We're back to drifting allover the place, it's truly unviable on certain mechanics. Really hope this receives a formal response as it's been getting quite a lot of traction now that more players are noticing it.

Just throwing my name in the hat here, after yesterday's update this is really bothering me. Even something as simple moving my character forward is annoying because I can't get them to move straight. I can't imagine doing some high difficulty content with this and getting hit by something because you can't move your character in a specific way that keyboard or console players can.

Please strongly consider reverting this change or at least provide some kind of option to adjust this in-game, thank you.

I really hope this gets the attention it deserves! It felt so much better during 7.0.

Wanting to bring attention to this, it feels like no matter what stick sensitivity is changed too it's not good enough. On all senses my character feels shaky, turns when i stop walking. On my usual sensitivity simply gently moving my thumb across the stick made the character move. I'm not sure how or why this got changed, but it needs to be fixed asap.

Hello! So this makes absolutely no sense but the “stick sensitivity” setting is actually in REVERSE of what seems logical. The higher the stick sensitivity, the larger the deadzone. So set it AWAY from zero to increase how far you need to move the stick to start moving.
