Transforming into animals! (Beastmaster)

I think that many people wish to interact with animals because they would love to run, jump, and soar through the sky like they do.

Similar to the blue phoenix mount from The Rising, I would love to see mounts that you acquire from Beastmaster which make your character disappear. I think this is more interesting than controlling animals and putting saddles on everything, and it would be very easy for the dev team to implement with existing systems and assets.

For example, you might get a falcon mount called “falcon transformation” when you attune with the animal as Beastmaster, and then you can use the mount to fly around as a bird.

I feel like players would love this, and it would be a very easy addition to the game. I personally would be really happy, and run around or fly as an animal for hours. What do you guys think?

I'd prefer beastmaster as a pet job, but I would love to see them import 'monstrosity' system from ff11 as a type of side content.

In that you started with a couple of base forms. Then you unlocked different beast forms by reaching certain levels with other weaker forms, eventually unlocking bigger/cooler forms. Since ff14 has flight, would be cool to unlock griffon or other flying forms and fly as those. If I remember correctly it also had 1 special zone that was pvp like, where regular jobs could fight monstrosity players and vice versa.

(of course I totally just want to play as a golden fleece or a leech because they're just so cute)

I dont wanna be a skinwalker pls I wanna be ranger with animal familliars. I also hope they make the Beastmaster job have nothing to do with the souls in Solution 9

Please no, it'll just end up being current Summoner and no one likes that.

Make it jank, make it uncomfortable, make it a true pet job like we've never seen in FFXIV, latency and clipping and all.

Beastmaster should be a DoL that increases monster drops!

Being a warrior and fighting alongside your pet is a different class fantasy than being a monster. There is no reason why the game can't provide both fantasies, like FF11 did with the Beastmaster job and the Monstrosity game mode.

Personally, what I expect from Beastmaster job is to be a DPS with a pet in regular content, and their own specific content made for them (like The Masked Carnivale for BLU) is going to be the devs trying to recreate Pokemon in FFXIV.

nope,don't think so, best we can have is something similiar with old SMN but melee job instead of caster, chance it will use scouting or striking gear
