While I agree it's nice that male Viera were made the shorter of the two, you have to concede there's a world of difference between how their design and emotes (relative to their counterpart, but also just in general) were handled compared to female Au Ra...

Fem Aura can look intimidating. Just look at Sadu.

The Au Ra race just so happens to have EXTREME sexual dimorphism. Like Angler fish, except the female is smaller instead of the male.

Viera are the opposite, with Tall Bunny Girls and Smol Males.

I think it's a nice addition to the game to have races that are different in these ways, and it adds flavor to the world building.

Man, I would love to have the big fem version of an Au'ra. They look awesome!

- Squish the Xaela and Raen tribes into a single "Tribe" in the character creator. Just put the lore in there how Raen generally have light colored horns and skin and Xaela are darker.
- Allow players to choose their horn color palette. (Add a few more in there for good measure).
- Also squish all the other options (Skin color, hair color, eye color, etc...) together.
- Allow horns and faces to be chosen independently. (Because it's been a decade goddammit).
- Create a new "tribe" in the character creator.
- Use the Highlander Meshes
- Add new animations that are less cutesy and edgy.
- Give them Aura skin/scales.

There, the Au'ra problem would be solved.

Wish they'd let us at least pick different animations during character creation (shouldn't even be that hard considering how human all the races are) because, god, I cringe whenever my character emotes in cutscenes... they piss me off so much

That was actually why I swapped off Au Ra back in Stormblood. The chair mounts had just come out and that was the final straw for me dealing with the dainty emotes, I just could not deal with the sit pose on that mount haha I thought aesthetically they were cool, but their emotes just weren't what I wanted.

Yeah, same here... I did briefly Fantasia'd to a female Roegadyn early on, but I still favour Au Ra (conceptually...) way too much so it didn't stick... I've been gritting my teeth ever since but... it's frustrating as hell

I think Au ra are fine the way they are. Considering how the races lore an background fits it makes sense....besides call Male Au ra groomers and edgelords....are you saying we drk are edgelords funny if you do considering drk true power derives from love.....anyway naw Au ra are good the way they are.

Although I wouldn't mind a big lady and smol men trope I feel like for Vieras you don't really notice it often because a lot of the female characters are min character-height settings. Maybe if you stood close to a stranger but then it becomes awkward for different reasons?

I'm fine with F au ra emotes I just wish they were taller and even that probably won't change much for SE.
