We're talking about a company that can't even finish off two races to wear hats. I don't think bodytypes are coming anytime in this decade, with all due respect.
AS MUCH as I do want Xaela women to be taller.
Honestly, what bothers me the most about female Au Ra is how "safe" their customization options are.
For example, male Raen have blue tongues, and male Xaela have darkened sclera. Meanwhile, their female counterparts don't have those unique characteristics.
It'd be nice if female Au Ra were given the option to have darkened sclera or blue tongues (and vise versa, if male Au Ra players aren't too keen on having those features).
I stand by that they really should have added the Gria instead since they're an actual draconic race that already predated au ra, the superior dragon race in all ways. Same short stature as well and Au Ra should have been an alternative taller less demure/petite lizard race added later similar to the old concept of them.

The problem with adding Gria is the wings... They already massively struggle with tails, what kind of treatment do you think a race with wings would get?
Adding the feral version from the concept art as an alternative would be great. I'd play one. They could also swap some existing NPC characters to the bigger feral version to make certain parts of the story more believable. I laugh my ass off every time the game tries to pass off a female Au Ra as some kind of badass when they all look like this:

I still feel like they should have gone the opposite route when adding viera. Bunny boys should have been tiny in comparison to the women.
Surprisingly I doubt the the wings will be as big of a problem people make it out to be. I would say a good 90% of the armor in xiv is made in a way to where there's barely anything in the back so clipping overall won't be that much of an issue outside a few armor sets.
Right? It drives me crazy! Strange eyes I can sort of understand (even if I disagree), they can change a character's vibe a lot, but even though you barely ever see the inside of a character's mouth you're telling me even that was "too much"?Honestly, what bothers me the most about female Au Ra is how "safe" their customization options are.

I wish female Au Ra had been afforded anywhere near as much dignity as male Viera were... Not saying they should tower over male Au Ra, but for the love of god don't literally make them less than half their size...
Glamour without restrictions* is long overdue!
If you think so too, help keep the thread going!

I completely missed the era of WoW, but if I had been there, pretty sure I would’ve loved draenei.
When I hear the word ‘Dragon’ with rpgic reference, I think of such terms as Dragonsword, Dragon Armor, Dragon Lance, Dragon Gem, Dragonlord, etc. These usually refer to items that are POWERFUL, intimidating. As such, when I heard of ‘Dragon Females’ for the verrrrry first time (still in the production stages), I got hyped. When I saw Au Ra males for the first time, they did not disappoint. I was led to believe their feminine equivalent would be just as visually strikingly enjoyable. Powerful. Robust. Solid. Fleshy. Unapologetically sensual. When I saw the last minute switch Yoshi pulled so as to play it artistically safe for the current trend of the masses…my reaction was: “O-oh. Wow. Miqote part 2. Horns addition.” Another petite waifu fit to serve tea in a cutsie cafe. Delicate. Girlish. Dainty. And you know, obviously it works for the masses, since Miqote is the undisputed queen of preference. But when I heard that Dragon word, I was fundamentally expecting something deliciously badass, a beastly imaginative version of Xena’s second coming, not….’Cute Part 3’, Midlander Hyurs and Miqo’s filling that role already.
‘He who has no expectations will never be disappointed.’
