No argument here, but that's the writing more than it is the design. Quite telling that you barely (if ever) see characters like Sadu or Yugiri use emotes, almost like the devs realized those are completely at odds with the kinds of characters they were trying to make there...

I doubt we'll get any new races, and iirc, there's no anthro scalie race in the FF series that that they could pull from and have it make sense. Hrothgar are pretty much Ronso from FFX, so it fits thematically with the overall FF series, it makes sense.

And the latter races after Au Ra are even more half baked, Hrothgar and Viera still can't wear 95% of helms.

However, I feel now that they're most likely done with adding races, they'll go back and polish the ones we have. It wouldn't surprise me if Viera and Hrothgar got helms in 8.0, and we got a option to swap run animations. I've gotten used to male Au Ra's ridiculous run animation but I know lots would swap it for another, Elezen might work well, or even Fem Hrothgar. Maybe we'd be able to swap idles too.

Bangaa exist and they are already in the game. Both male and female.

Funnily enough I've heard a not insignificant number of people wish for playable Bangaa, but sadly much like Mamool Ja their anatomical differences make them borderline incompatible with the way gear is handled

Got the impression of au ra looking like stereotypical west asian women. Size included.

Though yeah more bestial playable races would be neat, albeit after the hatless, and rigging mess going on i doubt they could manage more.........

Whatvwe have now work for Raen. I wish Au Ra had the Hyur treatment to have a stronger/more savage model for female Xaela more like the concept art.

Human sexual dimorphisms. Attractiveness in males are less about looks than for females. Hence why males ends up with much more varied designs while females ends up based around the human feminine form.

I'm quite happy with current au'ra in term of form. Only thing I wish is they separate the horn from the head's morph, that's all.
