I concur 100%.

that's how we get terrible writing like Dawntrail.
This is where I think the issues come in. When people conflate subjective opinions with objective facts. I feel the response to "criticism" and the negative reputation this place has could be turned around if more people started acknowledging that most of what we post about is simply our personal opinions. For example, you feel the writing in DT is terrible; I feel it's great. Neither one of us is "right" - we just have our own opinions.

The strongest criticisms for DT are coming from people who have adored this game for years and are invested in its storytelling
Here we can get a little objective. Stroll through some of the threads and you'll see many of the same names that were also regulars in similar threads about EW. There will always be people rotating in and out who are indeed new to offering a negative take (just like others who had negative takes about past expansions can be positive about this one), but there's also a sizable segment that's been disgruntled for years.

framing all those people as whiny bedwetters is cheap.
Agreed. The same would be said, though, about framing all those who dare to post that they enjoy the expansion as white knights, "loyalists", etc..
