Black screen on startup

Hello all,

I am fairly new here and started playing again a few weeks back. I was having a great time, but all of a sudden the game stopped starting for me. Everytime I start up the game just gives me a black screen. Playing on PC through Steam. I tried restarting the PC, reinstalling the game, every fix I could google to fix this and nothing has worked. I would like to continue to play, but it the game doesn't work I will just have to cancel my sub and I would really rather not do that.

It's a current issue, apparently, after patch 7.01. Just give it a few minutes. It should go ahead and start. I'm having the same issue. A few other people also.

At what point does the issue occur?
How often does the issue occur?

Could you provide the exact error message received?
Are you running any additional programs alongside Final Fantasy XIV?
Does the issue occur with one character or multiple characters?
When the issue happens, is the PC over heating at all?
Were any update or changes made to the PC around the time of the issue?
Does this issue occur if the game is run in full screen mode? Does it happen in borderless or windowed mode?

Could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.
