Thread: Legacy players protest to getting into 2.0 Beta!

Pretty sure the entire community right here wants in. Which is great, fantastic, yada yada yada. We all want to see what 2.0 is like.

That wont grab anyone who isn't part of the current community though; Outside people need to try it and see/know it is different so SE can hopefully grab more subs and create a successful MMO.

So I understand why the beta phases are open to everyone, not just us....Even though I reallllly want in.

I am referring to two different interviews where Yoshida has stated first that there was going to be an alpha test in September and now in another he mentioned closed beta 1, closed beta 2, and open beta. The open beta starting in January, meaning the game might not even launch for 6-7 more monthes.

Yoshida: For that part first we will have alpha test around end of September. That is to test the server load at that time. AFter that we’ll go into beta but after receiving feedback we are planning to increase the game to see how much first impression we get and depending on how critical it is we have to decide how long to stretch the current version.

1.23 and Alpha test is going to run at same time, is that correct?

吉田氏：リリースは1.23の方が早いです。ただ今と同じように1.23aとかbとかいうものが予定はされています。
Yoshida: 1.23 release would be earlier; however just like now there is plan for 1.23a or b also.

――1度完全にサーバーを閉じてから新生に変わるのですか？
Server is going to close once then change to 2.0?

吉田氏：いや、αテストは現行版と並行すると思います。
Yoshida: No I think alpha test and current version will run same time.

no ones getting alpha invites, those are all done in house, but people dont know that

Ive already been playing FFXIV beta for 2 years now, id rather wait untill they release 2.0 proper before i play it. Had enough of beta testing this game lol.

Also hold on a second, what is this ive read about open beta for 2.0 not starting untill january??? are you kidding me lol. So we have version 1.23 with no more numbered version updates for the next 5 months...... thats going to get old really fast.

Another thing do we get to open beta test 2.0 with our current character transfered over or have to open beta test with a new character untill they transfer our chars over for the release version of 2.0 which could end up being in march or feb.

Thats a possible 7-8 months of version 1.23 thats two thirds of an entire year.
