Nope. Was mentioned it wasn't tied to Legacy status.
To be honest I think most people feeling entitled to get into beta wants to play 2.0, not exactly test it and report feedback lol. I honestly think this is why Yoshida said it's not exclusively related to legacy status.
I don't know about others, but I do want to test it and give feedback. 2.0 needs to succede! Its make or break time, and I'm a bit fearful without certain feedback SE might not make the most of this oppertunity for re-launch. I am fairly critical of SE and some of the decisions they make overall. We dont need blind fans going into the beta and blessing everything thats terrible, and cursing everything that will make the game better. And sadly, I can sooooo see this happening. Not to mention JP players not being vocal enough in thier criticism. So while I dont mind a certain amount of random people getting into the beta, I would hope for reasonable, experienced players, that are not fanboys and fangirls to also get into the beta. If 2.0 isnt absolutely perfect, and has issues catering to the casual playerbase, then it will already be in trouble at launch.Nope. Was mentioned it wasn't tied to Legacy status.

I've been plaing this game for a long time now. There are a lot of things that I love about this game, and I see it as having a lot of potential. That being said, I've also had to put up with the many problems that the game has, and somewhat mystifying decisions and directions from the devs. This is obviously my personal opinion, but I have a lot of friends that left because they were not as stubborn as me. Long story short, 2.0 needs to nail it or it will flop.
Yes, we've been through the thick and thin. That's why we got the rewards we have. It isn't a reason to be cocky and overexpecting. We're not entitled to anything, Legacy or not.
I just beat Final Fantasy XIV yesterday (Darnus was HARRRDDD ; ; ) and to be honest: While I'd love to be in the beta, I'm more excited to finally enter the Crystal Tower for keeps.
That's not to say I wouldn't participate in the beta if I got in. That would be a nice bonus.
yeah i think any1 who stuck it out as long as the legacy players have especially ppl like me who have been playing since CB should be given 1st choice for if they want a beta spot for 2.0 i can kinda understand them getting new ppl to increase interest in the game but still we the ppl who been on the pay2play list a lil customer service would be appreciated
Didn't SE originally say that in the 2.0 Beta, They where gonna Push all the Paying Members in first, Then Let randoms run in? o.o

yes they did.
"GE: Do you have any ideas yet on how will people get into beta?
Yoshida: We decided not to tie it directly to the legacy campaign, but we want to prioritize getting the current players that are playing now into beta."

I believe that Legacy players should be able to beta test, while also letting in people that have never played the game before. This way, at least veteran players will have a chance to explain some of the basics to the new players so that they aren't too lost and confused at what to do, despite if the game is on railroads or not.
If you pit new players and veteran players together during a beta, new players will probably feel more comfortable about talking to others and asking questions that wouldn't be present if the veteran players were not around.
