We need feed back from both Legacy and non Legacy-players but the most feed back SE should get is people who never played a FF online mmo before.

It should be half-'n'-half.
i would like to see beta but since i hate doing things twice ill pass ill just stick to the secret world till we can login again after the game go's live for us.
The last thing that this game needs to is to listen to only this community during beta.
For legacy players... Beta or not you're going to play the game. You're part of a very small minority of MMO players that will eat shit and enjoy it. They need people who cast this game off after launch to tell them whats wrong in 2.0. Not you.
By the way,,I been refreshing the FFXIV Facebook page the whole day because I have nothing better to do today and it went up nearly 200 in clicks. That's not bad.. at least the interest levels for some people are kicking in.
this game wouldn't be where it has gotten to today if they didn't listen to this community... now I'm not saying this because I want only us to be in this game but we helped with the making of this game and he listened to us on it. So if we get beta we do if we don't we don't *shrugs*
I have a secret to tell. From my electrical well. It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells. So the room must listen to me Filibuster vigilantly. My name is blue canary one note* spelled l-i-t-e. My story's infinite Like the Longines Symphonette it doesn't rest- TMBG Birdhouse in your Soul
A huge THANK YOU!!!! For FINALLY selling the Meteor Survivor Polo on the store. AND a huge thanks to my friend who bought it for me while he was at Fan Fest!!! YES I finally have my POLO!!!
That's fair, but also, 2.0 would never be actualized if SE only listened to this community, because like he said, we still enjoy eating the food even though it's shit. The primary reason why there is a 2.0 is not because of us. It is because of the community out there that got up in droves, slammed this game with negative reviews (which it deserved), and they left.this game wouldn't be where it has gotten to today if they didn't listen to this community... now I'm not saying this because I want only us to be in this game but we helped with the making of this game and he listened to us on it. I want to see a healthy mix of them, of us legacy players, and of totally brand new players who never touched FF 14 before, as closed beta testers.

Be careful... Beta might be Yoshi's new trap for all Legacy players:
Your charge, in this cunning challenge, is to climb up 100 floors of a mob-infested Dalamud and defeat him/her/it... or else you cannot log out. (And yes, just as before, I'm making another direct and shameless reference to Sword Art Online's story).
Honestly though, I will like to have a vary varied mix of Legacy and new people from all over the world play the beta. The idea is sound... (provided I get to elbow my way in)... because the development team will be able to really test a variety of things all at the same time:
For instance, Legacy players can swiftly test end game content, battle dynamics, faithful treatment of mythos, transportation efficiency, stressing the network servers, gear/weapon systems...stuff like that.
New players can test exploration dynamics, tutorials efficiency, beginner's levels, inviting more friends to try this new MMO, adjustment + placement of mobs for low level areas, social/cultural interest (is the content exciting enough to make u play more than an hour a day?)
So yeah, a mix is definitely the way to go
"After ten years, finally headed to Sharlayan... absolutely stoked"
While I would personally love to play the beta and help iron out any bugs involved, I think it would be better for others who haven't necessarily been around since launch to be involved.
I know that I will personally be comparing it to how things were before. "Oh this is a nice change." "Why did they remove that?" "I wonder what this area looks like now." "Where are the prostitutes?!"
In reality, we need a fresh pair of eyes who will come in and see A Realm Reborn in a way that most of us can't anymore: As new players.
