Legacy should get first access to 2.0. The later betas should invite newer players as well as older players. This way people have something to do during the shutdown.

well i'm glad most people seem to realize that too many legacy players would not give a good variety of feedback
As much as I like playing with you Dark Knighto, I have to disagree.
It was our choice to pay through 1.x they didn't make us. Sure most of us should get in, but really, most of us just wanna play 2.0 and don't really care much about the beta itself. Most of you guys are now blinded by the fact that OMGS 2.0 IS GOING TO BE SOOO AMAZING NOTHING CAN BE WRONG WITH IT, most that have been playing the game till now are going to forget it's just a beta. I say bring in the people who haven't played it give it a go and their feedback, because they out of anyone will give better feed back with thrown in legacy members.
But really, we are already going to get our names in the credits, what more do you guys want? Seriously....
You got a point, but id say, mix new players and legacy players. As much as I like playing with you Dark Knighto, I have to disagree.

Please shoot me but I kinda agree with Rokien. I mean it would be nice if we all got beta but lets be realistic here. It's probably not going to happen. Some of us may actually get in but not all of us.As much as I like playing with you Dark Knighto, I have to disagree.

A huge THANK YOU!!!! For FINALLY selling the Meteor Survivor Polo on the store. AND a huge thanks to my friend who bought it for me while he was at Fan Fest!!! YES I finally have my POLO!!!
I agree. Well said.
For instance, Legacy players can swiftly test end game content, battle dynamics, faithful treatment of mythos, transportation efficiency, stressing the network servers, gear/weapon systems...stuff like that.
New players can test exploration dynamics, tutorials efficiency, beginner's levels, inviting more friends to try this new MMO, adjustment + placement of mobs for low level areas, social/cultural interest (is the content exciting enough to make u play more than an hour a day?)
So yeah, a mix is definitely the way to go

Agree with the quote here as well. I want to get in, it would be nice but I am not hoping for anything. To have an objective beta you need to have long term players, newer players and non players all together. To be honest that would give the best information. Not to mention a variety of players from around the world to have a nice balance to test if there is any latency issue.

But for 2 years, we've been the only people who could give feedback.
Even my suggestion to let the welcome back members on their own forum for a week was completely ignored.

Legacy players who've actually logged in and played within 20 days of the beta should be first wave imo, maybe staggered if needed.
Then a choice to the people who've been paying for the development of the game since it went monthly, even if they've not logged in for a while.
Then a load of keys given out through the fan sites some time after later.
Some keys then given out through the wider community like mmorpg, massively and gamespot etc (ensuring the specs of PC are wide and a varied demographic are given the chance, not first come first served)
Widen the approach to anyone that applied via SE website, twatter or facebook, based on spec etc as above.
Follow that with 'pre-orderers' of the game giving exclusive access to certain weekends or dates.
Lastly have a free for all stress test that'll delay launch by 2 weeks.
Either way, me first.
