Let me compare this in Anime terms. If ARR to EW was One Piece, DT is Fairy Tail.

Even when the story isn't about us, we should do more than just exist. We're not even playing the supporting role in a show, we're almost like a background extra for the majority of Wuk Lamat's journey. We occasionally get to pick an encouraging dialogue option to remind us we're still there but that's it.

I was all onboard with not being the focus and getting sidelined as a support character. I didn't get why people were complaining about Wuk Lamat so much, until I experienced the entire MSQ myself.

Remember when she finished the alpaca rite off screen? Lol. The very first rite and all we did is talk to people. They really should have made some kind of mini game involving catching the alpaca imo.

And that's only one example of telling vs showing in DT or otherwise missing gameplay entirely.

Well we got to pick up coca leaves too XD (because in that region yerba mate doesn't grow and the drink is mate de coca to combat altitude).

Seriously, the EW quest had a lot of talking but it wasn't as bad as this one in terms of significance of quests, repetitiveness as someone has pointed out and pacing.

I never said it has to be "boring" precisely, I said that it can't be as action packed and climatic.

We did have Choreblood before, but we did about as much fetching and talking on the behalf of people during the entire expansion as we do in every DT zone. And we also had combat outside of dungeons.
