This has been an issue for a few expacs by now.
Other problems I encountered with my flicker Vertigo were:
- Mt Gulg being blending white
- The Tower at Paradigm's Breach, which caused such a massive migraine for me, I had to go rest for several hours the first time I played it.
- Phoinix - the colors are atrocious and hurt people even without any sight issues.
All 3 have been adjusted by the team but I feel like only MT Gulg has been a real difference (I previously thought that the Tower & Phoinix have not been adjusted, someone here corrected me. I don't think it's good that I could not tell the difference)
All of these were color-related issues but with the Strayborough Deadwalk I actually have problems that aren't solved by changing the color accessibility.
The second part after the first boss feels especially painful. The rapid movements of the attractions in the background made me feel nauseous and within seconds my eyes had troubles concentrating on anything. I had to keep the camera down at all times and hope I don't run into a wall (a friend warned me about the dungeon & I used party finder where I explained my situation & had very kind & understanding players help me! but that is not a solution for doing expert roulette or in general). The second boss.
I would maybe suggest that instead of things flickering extremely fast to slow it down to an unnatural level? Like treading through a nightmare.I understand that mechanics should be challenging but may I suggest a tiny indicator for which tea cup is the one where the ghosts hide in? When the mechanic starts and we are supposed to follow the teacups, for someone like me, the cups become one blur. The colors being extremely same-ish does not help but I fully understand the aesthetic vision. Hence I think a tiny glow indicator would be helpful. My eyes were already tired after the area between boss 1 and 2 was so bad to look at.Last mob pull before the final boss / doll enemies. This actually caused me to nearly throw up. The rapid slamming down with the colors - I felt overwhelmed visually and audibly. The audio issues i can fix with the audio balancing but the colors I can't. Maybe just lessen the effect? Or have it an occasional not constant attack?I wanna add that I only have a form of vertigo and though it can be severe, I at least do not have epilepsy, I worry for people who do have more severe issues when entering this dungeon.
It's not a bad dungeon in the story it tries to tell but I often feel like SE believes challenging content has to be visually overwhelming. I don't know. I know for DT they had something akin to sensitivity readers employed but maybe sensitivity players would be good too?
I want to enjoy the game - but not while sacrificing my health comfort. For now I will have to skip Expert roulette until new dungeons take the place of this one.
PS: English is my third language so I apologize for the messy writing & the mistakes.
